Default Kerala: 5 Days and 1500 kms

There are times when we feel why is this place called "GODS OWN COUNTRY"

I am not good at photography neither am i good at my writing skills hence please dont expect a very beautiful trip log...well after so many years this probably is my first thread about a trip i guess...

Kerala:

I never planned this trip and i never thought that i will get to ride in Kerala, distance was an obvious issue and then the hassles of shipping the bike a week in advance and the trouble to my counterpart in Kerala to make sure that the bike is in a ridable condition etc....

Post our Sikkim - Bhutan trip i made some nice friends one of them being Rajeev Livingstone fondly called as (JITU). He was with us for the Sikkim - Bhutan ride and we got along very well, he has been inviting Goopi (RazorBlades) and me since quite some time to visit Kerala to his hometown...welll Razor did not but I did

Kerala's three historical regions: Malabar (northern Kerala), Kochi (central Kerala), and Travancore (southern Kerala)

Day: 0

I was scheduled to travel this magnificant place from the 23rd March - 28th March of 2009. I got Railway ticket from Mumbi to Trivandrum for the 21st March and reched Jitu's place on the 22nd Evening. I took the train thinking that i will plan my ride in the 2 days that i have but guess what (I know all of you guessed it right) i didnt.

It was so very nice to see the first set of hospitality that was rendered to me, Jitu waited for me at the Railway Station and we drove to pick Jitu's better half (Preeta) and two sweet little once Ju and Pu (pet names for the preety ladies). We reached home by about 7:30 and Jitu mom had cooked us some delicious food. We visited a friend of Jitu who apparently is the lead vocalist for a rock band known as "AVIAL' and they had just come out with their new album. We were chilling out at his place and wailing away some time; soon it was very late and we decided to head back home, came home and set an alarm for the ride starting at 5:00 am on 23rd March

I always believed that distance is calculated on Speed factor and on Time factor; now i clearly undertand the relativity of the formula 'Speed = Distance * Time" but here in Kerala i noticed one thing which is nobody will ever tell you the distance in Km but they will give you an approximate time frame to reach the place, which was very confusing.

More to come...photos and the entire trip log...

I don't know whether Photobucket has any option to resize the images. You could probably resize the images before you upload it on the net.
