              Continuing with my day with my cousin brother i did plan to take his advice and follow a plan...now the thing is that Kerala has some diversity in climate in short distances...Kerala all said an done is very close to the Equator making it a very hot place, however there are some climatic relief on the eastern part of kerala which are located a bit above sea level...

              Perimed was my next step in completing the 2 leg of my ride. (Now such an unusual place)..i guess most of em might not have heard of this place although many people might have passed through it while going to Tekadi or Munnar

              I have my Grandmothers sister put up there with their Big Family, so i choose to save some money there.....

              Hotels in Kerala are expensive and i choose not to stay in a HotelPerimedu

              Hey but I must say that they were so nice to me, I got pampered so much they fulfilled all my desire of Kerala delicacy. (Pal Appam, Mota curry), (Tapioca and beef fry), (Fish Curry and loads of Kerala rice); what else do u want in life..

              Summary of this short ride

              Total distance covered 110 kms approx
              Perimedu is approx 1309 above sea level and hence Weather is very pleasant and light showers during the afternoons or evenings
              Roads: Beautiful as usual
              Day 2 continues:

              Perimedu is a far cooler place than I thought it would be, change of climate in a span of 2 hrs was very unusual for me. 100 kms behind, I was sweating and smelling as if I had not taken a shower for ages, and here post 100 kms I was feeling so fresh with such a beautiful breeze blowing, just about perfect to make you feel healthy and good about yourself. So many occasions when I really felt the need to park my bike and just stay at Perimedu; it is a village but a bit more developed, population is scarce and the houses are a close knit unit. Each one knows each other and all are very kind to each other as well.

              Chalo!! Leaving all these stories behind let me come back to the ride part.

              So I was at Perimedu in the morning for breakfast with no plans in my mind about what next?
              I had a brief talk with my uncle out there and he said Thekadi is just 30 kms from there and Munnar is 100 kms (Approx) from there. I though Munnar is a better place to go as I have an entire day to go there and come back and it was a matter of 200 odd kms only.
              (Well I had not sunk into the time factor and I was still calculating all on the distance factor)

              I kept riding along the road without much entertainment, had stopped for lunch at a small restaurant on the outskirts of Pulianmala and had my staple Beef Fry and Parota. Relished it.

              J
              Well the best part, I am still alive and I saw no elephants that day but it was a spooky 4 kms in which I must have prayed 10 times at least, skipped a heart beat at least 5 times, thought that I will quit bike riding if I come out from here alive.

              IDUKKY DAM is a very huge dam built over PeriyarRiver and it is between two hills and it is one of the highest arch dams in Asia.

              The roads were ever winding and there was very less or no traffic, I was passing through a lot of villages and I was sometimes a bit scared to stop anywhere somehow I managed to reach home by evening.

              Ride Summary:

              Perimedu [09.15am] Trip: 346 Km: -> Kuttikanam -> Kattapana->Puliannmala-> Nedukandam-> Kudumbnchola-> Santhapara-> Devikulam-> Munnar.

              From Munnar to Perimedu [Back]

              [Cochin Rd.] -> Pallivasal -> Anachal -> Chenkulam Dam -> Kallarkutti Dam
              -> Cheruthoni -> Idukki Dam -> Kattapana -> Kuttikanam -> Pirmed. Trip: 586 Km: [08.30pm]

              Trip Meter: Start: 346 Km & End: 586 Km

                Nice log anup. mmmmmmmmmmm & pics tooo. Really tempting ones.

                The bus incident is really scary, goood to hear the ZMA was one piece after the ride. One question the dam looks good but are you allowed to take the pics & visit the dam or is it same like Koyna.

                    Ya there was nothing to worry about, I was ok just riding on tarmac a bit of off roading experience.

                    Dam is accessible and also can be photographed. Time was less hence choose to avoid it.

                    @Meisrossi: Is there a problem if i do it solo? Stop asking the same ol question again and again

                              Anup. Nice photos again and its seems to be a fabulous trip.
                              Me too concerned mainly about the crazy bus drivers in gods own country. Ride safe.

                                A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

                                Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.
