Hi Manuj

Excellent pics and write up.
But i found some info which is not exactly right. so just putting it here.I am from coimbatore and this route was one among our favourite route so i know this route pretty well.
On your day 2 log you have mentioned:
we have to reach Sholayar Dam which is some 40kms from Pollachi and from there the ghat (hill) roads to Valparai starts.

Sholayar dam is in between Valparai and Athirampalli falls. And the dam which you are mentioning is not sholayar ,its Azhiyar Dam. From Azhiyar dam only the ghat section starts after the check post. The dam which you see on the left hand side as soon as you cross the checkpost where the ghat section starts , is Azhiyar dam.

There are lot of places near by. 10 - 20KMS After the checkpost there s a apot called Monkey falls.Just before reaching if you take the left(its actually not allowed for vehicles) you can go to Cantoor canal.(This canal is said to be some 200kms canal which starts from here and the other end opens up in parambikulam dam). And the place where the climax of Chinna gounder movie shot is also near by, a perfect place to swim.

Last time i did this route in 2008, longing to go there again. And one more info distance from Valaparai to Athirampalli is more than 60kms. There are 2 routes to goto athirampalli. I always chose the one less used hehehehehe.

Wish you good luck and drive safe. This is the best way to enjoy the college life outside college.

Hey thanks for correcting me. I got confused between Sholayar dam and azhiyar dam. And yes we came across both these dams en route. I wrote this log almost a month after the ride and hence these confusions . I should take a note of the places in my forth coming rides

Yes MG . Loved riding through that stretch. The roads were newly laid and there was nil traffic!

P.S: Thought we would meet when you were here in KA, if you had come to Kodachadri.
