Leh brings with it, its own set of unexpected turn of events and delays. Part and parcel of the ride. Even we had a lot of such things during our trip. Glad that u completed the trip in-spite of all ur difficulties. Congrats once again man....

Day5: Gurgaon-Chandigarh
Usually every day it takes half an hour to tie up luggage and lube all be bikes , so did today. Started by 8:30. Initially the traffic was more but got better later. Again some confusion to reach Delhi auto walas and bikers showed the is the way out of the city.I want to get the wound dressed up. I was still skeptic to continue or not. Finally found a small hospital and went inside. They really scared me. Looking at the wound they said its very deep and it would definitely need 2 months to heal. He said I need 3-4 days bed rest and should not move. I really got tensed, at this point I almost gave up. I was not able to walk since they tied it big and tight. I came out and said I am thinking of going back .Vinal said better not take risk. Seeing me last night they both had a fair idea how bad my condition was.

We said will stop for breakfast, stopped in a Dhaba. I didn’t call it as a quit. I thought lets ride till Chandigarh and see how it goes. This was the most expensive Dhaba we had food. Just for a veg curry it cost 100rs .They royally cheated us. Ride till Chandigarh was the most boring stretch for me in the whole trip. It was damn hot too. At some point when we stopped Vinal said he was feeling bit giddiness. We took a break had enough water and snacks and continued. Vinal had called up Chandigarh probiking to get the bike a mini service. We reached by 4pm. HH and probiking was very close. In HH they refused to do only things we wanted to do like , Oil change , wash and tighten the chain. They said will have to do a full service. And those guys serviced both the bikes in an ours time.Only good thing was sitting in AC customers waiting room. I got a new clutch liver and indicator bulb.

Once we all were done we started looking for room. We asked an old wise man selling bun and other snacks about the rooms. He said there is a temple guest house and we can try there. We went in front of that and was thinking to see whom to ask. By this time he came again and went with Vinal inside and talked to them to give us room. We had to give a copy of Id proof. So he again went with Vinal to the near my town and was showing all the shops and all. Finally they came back. I told vianl just to give him 50 rs since he helped us a lot. When we offered he didn’t take. I was touched by his kindness.
You don’t get to see these kind of people very often. Then we bought some snacks from him. He gave Vinal his mobile no. We checked in , it went out to take cash from ATM and buy medicines. I came back took bath. Then V and R went to buy food, mean while I took rest and had snacks.

Day-6 Chandigarh-Manali
Initial 100km of this stretch was boring and not good roads. Then road and vistas started getting better. While starting today the only thought in my mind was starting tomorrow I have to do off roading, so I might have to stay back in Manali. We reached Manali by eve. Not had to look for a room. While we stopped in the town I got beaten by bee twice. My bad luck still follows me. And it was paining like anything. We got a decent room for 300 bugs Today I had to change the dressing , found a hospital near by only got it dressed up. As usual these guys also scared me. Came back to room, took rest and after some time I took Diamox to not get affected by AMS. V and R had gone out to buy petrol cans and other stuffs. After some time my lips started shivering. I was not sure why this is happening. V and R came back after food and they also took tablets. I couldn’t eat the parcel food completely even though it had chicken. I asked if they are feeling some thing
after having Diamox. They said no. Then why only me, I didn’t tell anything and slept.

To be frank there was not much preperation done.
Had a basic idea about the places to visit after seeing many threads in xBhp it self. Take cloths, tools, spares thats all and other stuffs based on ur need. Did bit of research on route and about taking permits at LEH.

Total distance covered is around 4.7 k from Bangalore-Jammu.
Cost is 22k Food / Acco and bike trasportation. This excludes the flight fare from Jammu to Bangalore.
