i was on my way to a urgent meet...the same old pal was my pillion
we were doing around 70...i was wearin a helmet with tinted glass...we were going fine and my friend told machiiiii i was sure im gonna fall after after the word before anything i could do...we hit a splendor guy who was peeping with his front wheel in a crossing...we hit and again slided but this time i was sliding with the bike for 2 mtrs i think...i came to a halt...people gathered and helped us....i had some cuts in ma left near fingers and a big area of skin was peeled off in ma right hand....
i was in bandages for 1 month...
again thank god i was saved...

guys my advice is please wear helmet..
its a life saver...even in ma coll many think helmets only cause accidents...i feel bad for them..

Buddy.. not just helmet, you need to wear full gear when you are with your pal

^^ya true..im a student now so financially weak..
il get atleast the jacket by next 2 months

my friend still trusts me and he is ma pillion most of the times...

Most of the time when i am riding i do a lot of assumptions
for eg if there is a cross road i assume somebody will cross the road and i automatically slow down, made it a practice, when i pass a bus at the bus stop i assume somebody will cross the road. i never overtake at curve or blind spots. Most of the accidents happen because people dont use indicators, even if i have to change lanes when there is no one around i use indicators, i have made it a best practice. i have set myself speed regulations for day time, night time and wet roads. even if i am in a hurry i keep my cool, better to reach late rather than riding rash and having more chances of an accident. when the orange signal flashes i usually stop the bike rather then speeding to avoid the red signal which most of them do. i talk to myself while riding and don't get offended if anyone zips past or provokes me. whenever i am riding on small roads i concentrate more on the sides of the roads it gives me a split sec if there is any animal or biker or person who wants to cross the road so i could react in that time.

+1 to that, Even I do the same!
Though I dont ride this slow but using every proper traffic rule and every precaution is habitual for me!

After a long time read this thread again as, I have started to use the bike more frequently & just zipping through traffic, not at break neck speeds but more like water flow, so wanted to remind myself of the risks associated & caution my self again

Indeed a very helpful article. Just one small point to add on , when we arrive at a situation where in we see an innocent looking cow standing in the middle of road ; the best bet would be to take the side from the cows's tail side. That is cause, mostly cows don't move backwards until they are constrained to. This may sound silly , but still its worth to note it down.

What you are doing is called Defensive Driving...I had found over the years through acquiring many medals(read as scraped knee,elbow,and palm) that it is the best way if one values one's life and limbs. I strictly follow the same and have less medals to show off..
