Just love your bike more than you........
M really lucky that i met only 1 accident in last 6 years while going to my school....... An alto driver hit me from front coz his wind sheild was cracked & i dont know how he was driving i was very angry @ that time coz my bike was hurt..... I say only one thing i love my bike more than my permanent girlfriend & even she is a lovely girl & knows that what i feel for my bike from last 3 years..........

luck is also a factor... what if a mad guy comes outta nowhere and hits you... like you are riding in traffic and some dumb poser wants to rush out bumps in you ? and blah blah many more such examples ...
Hope is a good thing ,
may be the best of things and

Very good thread. Hope more people read this thread.
Accident can happen to anybody, no matter how well one is prepared. The unexpected incidents are simply too numerous to beat all the time. One thing I have learned apart from being prepared for the unexpected is, riding slow especially in the city by itself can prevent a lot of grief, or at least when accident does happens, the injury can be reduced greatly. Riding slow also gives more room to react. By slow, I don't mean hogging up the road at a snail pace like some does. Its not 100% safe, but I can bet its still the safest form of precaution.

Most people spends to make their ride go faster or quicker. And here I try to make them stop quicker, better rubber for better grip (not so I can lean and turn faster, but so my tyre can provide better grip at the same slow speed) etc.. Maybe, when one day I have the opportunity to hit a race track, I will try to make my ride go quicker and faster as well.

                      really nice...

awesome thread need some more like this 1..
adding some pts from my side...
as accidents are nt a result of only one person's mistake..(generally)
so we from our side must keep our eyes wide open.
and should always try to respect others also while driving..
as it not only matter that we are hurted or not but other should also ke kept safe...atleast from our side.
as i also had an accident 3yrs bk as an old man suddenly came to my way and i felt bad later on for him so better to drive safe...
                      when i ride...I RIDE...!!!

                        Detailed thread...amazing amount of info
Also can't stress enough on the importance of checking gears. Helps you stop much much faster when barreling down a road/highway.

Life is Hell for a Biker, The real thing is all those four wheelers doesn't show any respect to us. It is not only our duty to ride safe and take care of others moving on the road but its the duty of every single vehicle moving on the road, from the cyclist to the monster truck drivers. As we all know corporation is very important to happy life in a family and as we r moving on the road, we are the users, its our duty to maintain discipline on the road. i had seen many times EGO getting over people, they want to show off. A biker riding his CT 100 will show off against a cyclist, a pulsar rider will showoff to CT 100 rider and the chains continues. Here i think we need to change the mentality of riders, stop categorizing people to be MANIAC and MORON.
i would like to share my experience with you people, i know im not as experienced as you people are, yesterday i was riding back home from Gurgoan i was near Bilaspur Toll gate, as i was riding slowly and steadily at a pace of 60 (i had a feeling to run hard but i convinced myself to be slow for my girl's love) a bloody trackter driver moving on opposite lane with out head lights on and worst case was he was not concentrating on the road even being on the wrong track. in such a case any vehicle can easily crash into him. So here i think its our duty to inform highway patrol about such NUTS. An Guy 22 yrs of age lost his life in an accident due to a nut like above mentioned. that guy was riding back home from Rewari to Dharuhera, near Masani beraj he met an accident with a truck moving towards Rewari on the wrong track, but in this case the bike rider was on the fault because he was not wearing helmet nor his pilion. He had injuries on his head, face badly ripped.
Mentality of people here in Rewari is sucking, they thing that im a dumb, as i alway use to wore helmet and gloves. They use to crack jokes at me, use to look at me with eyes wide open. Even my friends they say "nahi marega tu kuch nahi hoga tujhe".
I dont have a CE approved riding jacket as im a student. but still i use my cheap lether jacket even in summers to protect me against minor scratches. i think the bike manufacturors should provide safety gears in there show rooms, and sell them with bikes. They should promote safe riding habits to new bikers (Mostly students).
i even think girls should wore helmet, but as law doesnot force them to wear helmet, they feel free. they use to rapup there faces with clothes, shades, i think instead of all these accesories they should wear a fullfaced helmet that can protect them from dirt along with injuries. As goverment is promoting eqality between womens and mens, if mens are bound to wear helmet why not women, i will say that will be the correct mean of equality.
Cops should setup examples to common people by wearing helmet. But here in Rewari they dont wear helmet, so why other will wear helmet. Here Rewari doesent means my city it means all small cities.

Well, I have had a few accidents in the past, mostly my fault only, as I used to drive rashly, but I have changed, and over the past 6 years, have not had a single accident. But even when I used to drive rashly, I would still wear a helmet.

But I get really p***** off when I see some young upstarts riding around like maniacs on imported superbikes. No respect at all for the bike, other people on the road, nothing. I have seen some of them on 1000cc bikes with a baseball cap, t-shirt, shorts and flip flops!!!

And even some college students are no less! More and more of them can be seen on Bangalore roads these days, 3 or 4 dio's or activa's with 2 or 3 kids on each, weaving around through traffic at breakneck speeds!!
You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

i am a bit of a fool when it comes to riding,..i alwways wera my helmet etc and i never break traffic rules (othr than speeding ), but i weave through traffic and am usually quite fast all the time, i have had my share of falls, i vowed to resolve my riding after buying my R15,..and as you can expect, i didnt. I had 2 rather nasty skids, all my fault for misjudging road conditions, the last fall has left my left shoulder useless,..i cannot lift more than 1 kg ,..although i am still biking,..i have finally made at peace with myself,..and im saner now,..i hope i remain this way,..
There is a thin line between adventure and madness,...God must have made me myopic for a reason!!!
