Question Upgrade from a Discover 125 DTSi Needed.

After riding my current Discover 125 DTSi for almost 5 years and 30k Kms. I think it is time I got myself a new bike.
Contrary to popular perception, I've never had to spend too much to keep the bike in Shape. Regular Servicing every 3 months/2500Kms (whichever is earlier) and a good wash at home every weekend. It is currently giving me a mileage of 45-50 KMpL (It dropped to 30 after one bloody botched up job at Castrol Bike Zone Tarnaka and took 1 yr and 4 different mechanics to get it to the current level ). I've only changed the rear view mirrors twice and the rear brake liner twice and the front brake liner once. Also changed the Rear tyre to a Ceat Vertigo.

Personal Details :
Height = 5' 11"
Weight = 75 Kg
Approx. Budget = One Lakh
Riding Habit = Sedate speeds without any sort of zig-zag in City with absolute respect to fellow travellers and Traffic rules. Rip it to the fullest when on the Highway.

Daily Running = 30 Kms in Sparse Traffic + 30 Kms in slightly dense Traffic.
One Highway trip (Sometimes with Pillion) every month.
Requirements =
1) Comfort
2) Mileage
3) Availability of spares.

Other Requirements
Should be able to cruise at speeds of 70-90 for my weekend trips. This is the main pain point for me in my current Discover.

I would probably use this bike for another 2-3 yrs and I am not too worried about Resale value, cos here in Hyderabad, there doesn't seem to be much difference in resale of various bikes, unless you've got a Unicorn.

Desired Bikes :
1) Pulsar 180 (Already used to the Hamara Bajaj Brand)
2) Suzuki GS150R (Issues with Servicing the bike, nearest service center is 12 Kms away from home)
3) Unicorn Dazzler (Even this has got a huge waiting period now and the Honda Showroom guys are a put off, looks like they're doing a favor by selling these bikes)
4) Apace 180 ABS (I've fallen in love with the white colored one. I have ridden a friend's Apache 150 for sometime and not very comfortable with its handling, also the vibrations are a put off).
5) HH Hunk with Rear Disk (Worried about the Availability of spares now since the HH Breakup has been official)

Bikes ruled out :
1) Yamaha FZ - Too low a mileage to be economically practical.
2) All 100 cc Bikes, this would be downgrading. Mileage is important but my long rides would definitely be less fun.
3) HH Acheiver - I somehow hate the very look of this bike.

I guess this is already long enough to qualify for an essay in school rather than a post . Looking forward to expert comments.

Thanks to all in advance.

You can choose between P180/A180 ABS.. I've ridden P180, it's got an excellent ride.. precise controls. Don't know much about A180.. but ABS is desirable, since you got the budget and you are in love with this.. you can go for it.

If i were you i will not even think about the 150 bikes, then comes the two options P180/A180(ABS).In p180 you will get powerful engine + smoother engine(compared to A180),but on other hand A180 is a super package with quickest acceleration(very close or similar to p220) aggressive top speed, superb handiling, braking power, roaring sound etc...And please dont compare the older A150 with the new rtr series its entirely different breed, the vibrations are very managable usually comes at 4.5~6k rpm and after that it is smooth.
Comparing to p180 the only advantage of p180 is a smoother engine rest all to A180 and now also comes with ABS
Any day i will suggest you A180 over P180 because my cousin brothers own both the bikes and i have ridden two machines very well. Also take a test drive on both bikes and you will realize what i mean

When your budget is 1L & you love Pulsar, then, why not a P220? I'm sure you'll enjoy not only for 3, but for several years when you take care of it well, which I'm sure you will.

For a budget of around 1 lac rupees, my bet would be on the following bikes in the order specified:

1. HH Karizma R
2. Pulsar 220
3. Pulsar 180
4. Yamaha Fazer (the mileage would be an issue though considering the small 153cc mill it has)

All the above mentioned bikes will definitely not return a mileage of anything above 45 for sure but they all are great fun to ride and would be a true upgrade to your existing Discover 125.

Don't go for P220 as it will be upgraded in few months as Bajaj is ready to launch upgraded range of pulsars this year....

Go for Apache 180.. ABS if available...
