xBhp was born more than 16 years ago and since then we've had a chance to ride or drive hundreds of machines
running on two wheels or four wheels, and sometimes even three wheels. We are not done yet, and this list is
still growing. In these pages, we take a deep dive in the treasure trove of our ride experiences and bring
you all that we have ridden or driven.

One of the memorable dialogues from the movie Jurassic Park goes like this, “God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates Dinosaurs”. While the characters in the movie were looking for a dinosaur, we are staring at a beast of a different kind. Given the unnatural resemblance to our situation, we would rather say, “God creates man. Man creates Devil”. And just so you know, we are looking at the Ducati Diavel, the most athletic cruiser ever made.

You see, Ducati named it so because unlike the laid-back demeanour of a typical cruiser, the Diavel looks menacing, restless and, without a doubt, daunting. The motorcycle looks like it hates standing still; it is disrespectful for its character. It wants to move ahead and it wants the world to know about it.
If the Diavel is indeed the Devil then holding the handlebar is like holding its two horns. This is the Devil who wants to be controlled, but only till you know what you’re doing. Show the slightest disregard for its power and that huge almost 131 NM of torque will catch you off guard and have you tasting the tarmac. And naturally, it has immense road presence. You can’t miss it once you’ve noticed it. The wide front is substantial and as you move on to the either side, the massive fuel tank seamlessly leads to the compact tail section nicely complemented by the double exhaust setup. But wait till you see it from the back, the ultra wide 240mm rear tyre is literally monstrous in appearance.
Perspective
The thing about being human is that we tend to look at the same thing differently. And to tell you the truth, we really don’t look at the Diavel as if it’s evil. Sure it looks intimidating, but then many other motorcycles do too. The good part is since it has a low seat height (the only cruiser-ish thing about it), both feet can be easily rested flat on the ground and that is always good for confidence while riding.
And unlike how the devil is portrayed, the Diavel looks pretty stunning in comparison. It is aggressive, badass and extremely good looking. That L-twin 1198cc engine inside the steel trellis frame amplifies its sportier attitude even further. The Carbon edition that we rode looks even better. There are carbon fibre bits thrown here and there to make it more up-market.
There is hardly anything cruiser-like about it. With 162 horses at the twist of the wrist, the Diavel is capable of pure sportbike performance. It is, in a way, a streetfighter with an extremely low seat height. That is what it is.
And if you want to own this unique and sportiest cruiser but do not wish to spend the fortune, give OLX a try and who knows, you might get luck.
