xBhp was born more than 16 years ago and since then we've had a chance to ride or drive hundreds of machines
running on two wheels or four wheels, and sometimes even three wheels. We are not done yet, and this list is
still growing. In these pages, we take a deep dive in the treasure trove of our ride experiences and bring
you all that we have ridden or driven.

Adventure touring has really caught up in recent years. And while people have been touring on motorcycles for decades, it has found a wider audience in the recent times. The credit shall go to various motorcycle manufacturers who are continuously coming up with extremely interesting motorcycles in this segment.

Irrespective of the type, good design has become a prerequisite for all motorcycles. Gone are the days when big and heavy adventure motorcycles were an eye sore. Now is the time for lively and exciting tourers that are more versatile than ever while looking good enough to pose as well.
KTM is one of the most renowned bike makers in the world famous for their off-roading prowess. Today, the company has some of the best motorcycles in various categories. And we got the chance to ride one of the most advanced adventure-tourers from the Austrian manufacturer.
It is excellent, but so are many others. so, what is special about it? For a start, the 1190 Adventure was the first motorcycle in the world to employ the Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC) which includes the lean-sensitive Traction Control and Cornering ABS. What this means is that even at lean, the motorcycle will not lose traction and wheels will not lock up if brakes are applied. The system is developed by Bosch.
Among the safety features in today’s bikes, KTM’s MSC will be right up there. And now many other motorcycles have this. Competition is great!
Coming back to the 1190 Adventure, it has an 1195cc, L-twin, Liquid cooled, DOHC engine which produces 147.5 BHP and 125 NM of torque. The bike weighs 210 kg dry. The steel tube trellis frame and the adjustable WP suspension front and back ensure that the motorcycle has absolutely sportier riding dynamics. The stability is further enhanced by factory fitted steering damper which prevents headshake at high speeds.
In 2016, KTM also has the more powerful 1290 Adventure, but the 1190 continues to sell alongside it. Hopefully, KTM will get it in India as well.
But boy, what a performance!
Calling a motorcycle adventure-tourer might give an impression of a versatile and slow riding experience. Partially true, these motorcycles are versatile and but not slow by any means. Pick one today, be it the amazing Multistrade, the BMW S1000XR or the KTM 1190 Adventure itself, and you can be sure of sportbike-like performance with equally impressive handling.
let’s just hope that more and more of these motorcycles will continue to be made. After all, they have quite literally everything a motorcycle enthusiast could want – Performance, practicality and versatility.
