10,000 km across a diverse nation like ours; that pretty much sums up the sheer test that #roadTripUnited2022 was for all our machines. To be able to complete such a trip is enough to secure top marks but more than that, such a ride also provides one with the chance to really know the machines inside and out. So here, we are going to distil our experience with each of those throughout the 10,000 km of #roadTripUnited2022. Helmets on for this is going to be a heck of a ride!

Onwards to our fifth motorcycle and the one we are most excited to talk about. We have gone around India quite a few times but always on machines that were not expressly made for touring, that is true at least in the case of big bikes that we have ridden around India. On #roadTripUnited2022, we had a motorcycle that has Explorer in its name… need we say more about the experience? The motorcycle in reference here is the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer.

The new Tiger 1200 range from Triumph has been an overhaul, to say the least. They have worked on nearly every aspect of the motorcycle and to that end, they have succeeded in creating the best Tiger ever made. There are quite a few variants to choose from that are tailor-made for varying purposes. But to go around India, riding more than 10,000 km, and being able to enjoy every bit of it, there is nothing quite like the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer.

It is so well-equipped for a roadtrip like this that the features almost make you forget about how sound a motorcycle the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer is at its core. With world-beating comfort thanks to the ergonomics, the refinement, and the accessories available, the Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer is a motorcycle that you can do a world tour on without a hitch. From the panniers to the guards to the windscreen and the plush suspension, every rider who spent hours in the saddle was ready for some more.

The engine on the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer is a new 1,160cc unit that is good for 150 Ps of power and 130 Nm of torque. It is a fast motorcycle but more than anything, it is a smooth motorcycle. It is an effortless mile muncher and the engine has oodles of grunt to get you in and out of all sorts of situations. Just the right kind of character, we’d say. When in doubt, throttle it out, all day long! Also, that T-plane engine sounds ungodly and that is saying something considering it is a 3-cylinder engine.

Great ground clearance, dual-purpose tyres, bright headlights, a seat that your backside will fall in love with, and a whole lot of tech with the new 7” TFT instrument pack with My Triumph Connectivity System… we’d like to say that we have taken up such trips on a few motorcycles meant for the purpose of exploring, but none of them comes close to how well the Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Explorer does those duties. At the end of the 10,000 km, it was ready for 10,000 more and on and on and on.
