Re: Cycling journey with Montra downtown
That's nice. I wish I had the roads here to cycle long distance. In Kerala the roads are so narrow I have to swerve off the road into bushes and rocks to avoid getting splattered by a bus from behind. Do you feel the need for an upgrade after doing a 100+ kms ride?Originally posted by atulmnh View Post

100 kms ride i have not done yet but it can take 100+ easily. The question is how many miles can i munch on it after which it will start to give problem. That will know as the miles keep adding.Originally posted by leech View PostThat's nice. I wish I had the roads here to cycle long distance. The strava data shows you hit 45 kmph top speed. Was on a flat road?Originally posted by atulmnh View Post100 kms ride i have not done yet but it can take 100+ easily. Re: Cycling journey with Montra downtown
Gifted myself a Schnell M300 29er. Didn't know what to look for in a cycle at the time of purchase. Went in, one look at the cycle and I said I want that one.
Changed the handlebar to the trekking bar. Put some lights. Trying hard to find a rear rack for 29er.
Mostly, I do morning runs of 11km max. Sh!t scared of the senseless drivers of vehicles passingby too close. That has limited my range.
I need to find some safe routes to go on.
Need to check out that Strava.

Fix a good motorbike mirror on your handlebar. Very helpful to anticipate the vehicles coming from behind.Originally posted by OCTO View PostGifted myself a Schnell M300 29er. Didn't know what to look for in a cycle at the time of purchase. Went in, one look at the cycle and I said I want that one.

Congrats for getting your ride. Please let us know your reviews and cost of the cycle whenever you feel free. Also how much that trekking bar cost you and please post pics.Originally posted by OCTO View PostGifted myself a Schnell M300 29er. Didn't know what to look for in a cycle at the time of purchase. i prefer highways for cycling as we can munch miles without much worry for other vehicles. In city we get too much traffic and crossings.

Re: Cycling journey with Montra downtown
Glad to see there is a cycling forum also, I thought it was mainly for motorcycles.
I have been cycling (every morning almost, just started off lately though). Montra and Schnell are what I have .Had gotten them from OLX, so both of them are second hand but both are working well.

Check Out Schnell Hybrids... I had personally liked those. But my budget did not allow me to hover around 18K. Got myself a Kross Bolt...Originally posted by chetank007 View Posthello atulmnh and moderator,

20k or plus is a good budget. don't go for montra downtown if ur budget is in 20k range. check the ones suggested by greenknight.Originally posted by chetank007 View Posthello atulmnh and moderator,

Sure. i will like to join you on weekend rides. currently my stamina is around 70-80 kms range. but beware i am a slow rider and go for relax riding with avg speed around 15kmph.Originally posted by greenknight View PostCheck Out Schnell Hybrids... Re: Cycling journey with Montra downtown
Offnote: it seems there are many people from Pune with cycling as a habit here.
Even i'm from Pune. Would like to know what all areas u ride in so that i can accompany u people for at least few of the rides as riding alone is good, but with other people, it's better.

Also, i'm not a regular one (i used to be earlier), i ride on weekends only and that too max 20-25 km
