My first ride of 12 kms. made me sweat a lot. I thought its not my cup of tea. But something from withing was inspiring that I should not give ups so early. After two weeks I became comfortable with my commuting distance of 24 kms. (to & fro).
Some of my friends and neighbors commented that its not practical to commute by bicycle, someone said only low-class people commute by bicycle, another one said you can save time if u commute by motorcycle etc. etc.....
I debated with them, that ur thoughts are wrong, its very much practical, cycling is very much popular among rich ones also etc. etc...... and challenged them that I will prove it. But they just said...huh
After 6 months of hard-work, I reduce my weight by 8 kgs., increased my avg. speed to 30 kmph., increased my commuting distance from 24 to 40 kms. just to increase my stamina and power.
Now I upgraded from suncross mtb to Cannondale F5. And all of those people gave me weired kind of look when they looked at the bike and said is this kind of bikes available in India. I received comments like, it rides better than my motorcycle, its looks awesome, 27 speed gear box, its so light and maneuverable etc. etc...
One local daily (dainik Bhaskar) covered me with the bike & apprecialted my dedication towards cycling and environment conservation. Now most of those negative minds started behaving positively but some are still not. Now I use to receive attention of people as if i m riding a super bike. Those who rejected my idea of cycling now just envy me.
This is my story of cycling. Did u faced situation like this. If yes, pls. share.
All this just because of XBHP.com, who made me interested in cycling- the best way of commuting. so thanx to XBHP.
