Guys, you should have a soft corner for the blogs. They can't write such a review ever... Have mercy on the poor guys.

Its an excellent review. Answers a lot of our questions. On the other hand, I have some questions to the Journalist riders:

    1. You said the rev limiter is at 10,000 rpm. Elsewhere I read that this bike makes 25~ bhp @ 10,000 rpm only but its not mentioned here.

And in this review you also said the rpm light is configurable, with the figure showing 10,950 rpm, how is that possible with rev limiter stopping progress @ 10 krpm?
And, how can you exploit the maximum power properly, if its right on the rev limiter? Or are my facts wrong? Please correct...

    2. You said it has a top end of 136 kmph (on speedo). Is it likely to be re-geared before its release so that it gets a more decent top end?

    3. What about the Question-Answer session with Bajaj-KTM officials? Did it happen and what were the Q-A's?

            And 3.5 seconds on 0-60kmph
The figures were provided by Bajaj guys along the graphs that you see in the first post.

Fantastic review, and i wasnt expecting the performance figs/comparison but i got a nice surprise. Keep it up and some brilliant pics in here. This review would make the world notice, its that good.

But i have few queries regarding performance data, are those data(of CBR and R15) taken from your own tests or from any other source? AFAIK R15 hits 100 in around 13.5-14 seconds. Same thing for CBR which does in around 9.0-9.2 secs for the run till 100km/hr.

Still KTM is for those who are looking for a serious street-fighter'sque type of machine which has sheer brutality in terms of approach. The only fly in the ointment is the lack of the top-end but then the engine seems to be extremely short-geared which can blamed for the lack of the top-end punch which is kind of disappointing to me.

A word of caution for potential KTM buyers: Just in case if you guys are up and against the other 200ceecee bikes on-road just make sure you dont make yourself exposed on to an open-highway!!

I don't know why, but the Powerparts (and possibly spares) have pricing at Ninja level.

                    Chain @ 6-7K
                    Handle Guards @ 4-5K
                    etc etc

Why so expensive when everything's manufactured in India?

This bike outputting 25 hp also means the new Pulsar is going to be between 21(current P220) and 25 hp. Neither seems like a worthwhile step up for a current 200+ owner.

Also, 138 kmph top whack: Could the P220 outrun this on long stretches? Will be major embarrassment for owners.

Ah well. Will wait for the 350

Great Review ! Tourer + 10 ltrs of tank that drinks 95 Octane ? Its more of a track / city bike isnt it ? 2011 ended well with lot of good bikes coming in. Lots of choices in 0-1000cc+

                            Nice

Thats the most awesum review of any bike that i have read so far!!

surely KTM DUKE is gonna be my next bike after apache rtr...

i know its not a big leap for me jumping from 160cc to 200cc but i think in terms of performance its a HUGE leap

If you are in India, even a CD100 would do, but if you plan to make a getaway on the autobahn then perhaps the SuperDuke 990 would be better.
