I was talking to my good friend who runs a PBK service outlet - who in turn got the mechanic trained for KTM at Pune.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostBTW The bike does has some fancy gadgetry... He confirmed two things
1) No DRL - Lights have to be switched on.
2) Headlamp (not pilot lamps) would switch on when riding with the engine off, would kick in when the bike is crosses 3 kmph in the dark.
(Pardon me if I comprehended incorrectly)
Edit: When the bike arrived at the PBK showroom, people went crazy and started revving the bike. Amongst all the euphoria - I noticed the engine warning lamp (an orange triangle with an exclamation mark in it) was lit - I asked the showroom guy - why is the warning lamp on - he just shrugged. I then asked the mechanic at Auto service - he said - if the engine is revved madly without letting it warm up - the warning lamp comes on.
I am only narrating what I have heard.

I wonder whats the idea for that...? Push starts? Downslope riding? Am assuming the light dies the moment it goes under 3kmph!Super CommuTOURer - Talk less, Ride more

If i remember correctly, the head lamp can be turned on with the engine not running, also the engine automatically cuts off if one tries to ride with the side stand on!.Originally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostJust wondering what will be the case if ignition is turned ON, engine is not running and bike is stand-still. Will one be able to turn ON the headlamp..??When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

Guess not. Amidst the din, I tried that, the bike was switched off, the ignition was on, on position - I flicked the headlamp switch, the light didn't turn on (or probably someone switched it off, by the time I bent over to look at the H/L)Originally posted by Rahul.Gvli View PostJust wondering what will be the case if ignition is turned ON, engine is not running and bike is stand-still. With the side stand on, not sure if the engine even switches on - but sure there is a big display saying SIDE STAND ON.Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View PostIf i remember correctly, the head lamp can be turned on with the engine not running, also the engine automatically cuts off if one tries to ride with the side stand on!.

but regarding the side stand, the guy over there asked me to start the bike with the side stand on, told me to put it in gear and as soon i let go of the clutch the engine just cut off! When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

You might have missed the kill switch position thereOriginally posted by Shubz View PostGuess not. Afaik kill switch controls other switches.

There was too much commotion, understandably. Everybody were keen to touch it, feel it, rev it - to the extent that the engine had tears in its eyes (in the form of warning lamp ON)Originally posted by Abhishek2255 View PostSir actually about the headlamp i can't remember

Tried the same thing as Shubz. They showroom attendant then asked me to start the engine, after which the light came on.Originally posted by shreeda View PostYou might have missed the kill switch position there
