^^Indeed, but the only thing which goes against is the expected introduction of the faired range and 250 cc dukes i.e, to fill the gap between 200-390. But again 2lac is a very good price.

In Europe Duke 200 is priced at 3.3L while Duke 390 is priced at 3.9L approx. So if Duke 200 is priced at 1.3 L in India , Duke 390 should not be priced more than 1.75L OTR.I don't understand why it should be priced as high as 2.5L. But some how we Indians have different perception about price . Most of us would be happy if they price 2.5 L. Some are even speculating 2.8L. Bajaj is very clever not reveal the price in India. They have already started pre bookings here . So looking at price difference in other countries and the fact that there is not much increase in manufacturing cost between 200 and 390, personally I would be disappointed if they price Duke 390 more than 2L.

I got this info long ago from my insider in probiking mumbai and posted it all here .
As per my talk with him today some seniors from bajaj informed him that the launch will b a bit delayed. Hence they haven't received instructions for official bookings or pricing which they were supposed to. ..

Hope they bring in the 1290 SuperDuke to India too when it is launched. At around 14-15L I will surely be very tempted

2.8 seems a bit high to me. IMHO it would be less than 2.5 OTR (At least that is what I wish for )

Simple reason: it's going to be a worldwide launch.
It might be a bad time to release a bike in India but it's a good time for many other countries.

And hey, many people anyway wait for the niggles of the first batch to be sorted out, so they can buy the bike with no issues.
Not that I think there'll be issues in the first batch. I really hope not because I'm not sure I'll be able to resist buying the bike straight after it's released, monsoon or not, first batch niggles or not!

Exactly the reason I thought that they'll launch the bike in May. My friends are holding back on their plans to buy this bike as a powerful bike like this may become a bit too much to handle for them in the wet. That's all their folks' perspective!

hi, did anybody of you noticed in this article that they are talking about duke 390 R ?

Father of the Duke - KTM BLOG

    in the section:

Each bike has its role...... The 390 R

never heard anything of an R version for the 390.
    is it a typo?
