Re: Bajaj Pulsar AS200 and AS150 Ridden and Reviewed
deep007 - You are right in pointing out the discrepancy. The Bajaj website says 145 kg just as we'd also mentioned in our review of the NS done some 3 years ago. The apparent error crept in from a comparo sheet given as a hand-out by Bajaj at the Lavasa review ride of the AS's a week or so ago. And this sheet says 151 kilos for the NS! Will get it corrected. Thanks.Originally posted by deep007 View Post

In As200 vs 200ns, power is not mentioned correctly.Originally posted by The Monk View PostThanks for the lovely review OF sir. I was infact very interested in the AS 200 from the day i saw it at the launch.

Is the electrical DC in Pulsar 200 AS? Projector Lamps on Low Beam or High Beam or both. Pulsar Website says 55 W Low beam Projector and 55 W High beam MFR. What does MFR stands for. The pulsar breed is the best VFM bikes currently. Planning for 200 AS in the coming months.Last edited by sarvodaya; 05-26-2015, 09:49 PM.

Hello Sir,
Lovely review as always.
Didn't you find any handling differences with the clip - ons? I mean, an adventure bike should ideally have a straight, one piece handle bar. Do you think that the clip ons on the AS are a good substitute?
Secondly, is that carb unit is replaceable with the RS' FI one (I personally prefer FI, nothing against the carbs.)Last edited by MJ1984; 05-27-2015, 03:56 AM.

MFR refers to multi focal reflectors. The headlight setup is similar to pulsar 220F which uses low light projectors and high beam halogen.Originally posted by sarvodaya View PostIs the electrical DC in Pulsar 200 AS? Hello Old Fox Sir,
Have a P220F 2013 model 30k on the odo. Was planning to make a shift to 200AS. What I am primarily looking for is touring capabilities in comparison to P220F. I am not saying P220 is an excellent tourer but those who own it will vouch for it being one of the best highway performers.
Also I tour a lot in hills with pillion ( wifey ) and luggage. My P220 struggles on inclines with load. How is the torque comparison in the 200AS. Would it be better than the P220 in pulling load. Would it be sensible to move from P220 to 200 AS. I am sure the handling package will be better .

Was actually contemplating switching back to RE ( Had a TB AVL ) earlier. However since the time I have owned the P220 my riding style has changed to some extent. I do a lot of riding ( 150kms to office and back - 70% highways and 30% city ) during weekdays and trip on the weekends.Originally posted by Anuj_Gupta View PostNot a worthy upgrade .wait for 400cs.it will be launched next year in March.

Reason for contemplating RE is the torque factor for the hills. However 200AS will be a better handler in city traffic since I make a fast dash between 3 states UP, Delhi, Haryana everyday. Also 200 AS is a better package than the P220.
Am not really interested in the 400CS. I believe any bike above 200cc range is a good enough tourer for indian roads and also affordable and dependable. Have done 30k on my P220 out of which around 25K has been always highway riding !!!

Great Review Old Fox sir. and nice pics.
saw the review today only.
i will only say that these are semi faired bikes probably aimed at P220 die hard fans kind of target customers, and there is nothing adventure in it except the name.
however, i see this as a "ray of hope", coz when the 400 CC engine of bajaj will be launched, it will also probably have 3 versions - Sports, Naked and Adventure, logically speaking. and if thats the case, bajaj can actually make it a proper adventure tourer, with a little revised gearing, soft suspension with long travel, bigger tank, anchor point for luggage, some charging socket, a slightly bigger and manually adjustable windshield.
he he, thats all we ask from bajaj.

Torque in NARS comes after 6-7krpm, in hills that can be problematic. And that pull after 7krpm can easily blow you off from the hills.Originally posted by SidharthaN View PostWas actually contemplating switching back to RE ( Had a TB AVL ) earlier. So 220 is good for you as of now,may try bullet or Duke200.

Reviews suggest that the bike has a top speed as low as 110kmph due to short gearing.Originally posted by royal racer View Post150As got some serious power figure.. looks like he able to hit 125-130kph markTour De Thekkady

Well that's not true because I did 110kmph in my Honda unicorn . I mean if you compare it with its competitors , it does score well in terms of power and torque .Originally posted by harishkumarko View PostReviews suggest that the bike has a top speed as low as 110kmph due to short gearing.

Am sure it would hit 120kmph or maybe a bit more .I don't ride a bike to add days to my life .
