This was discussed before. The style was always like that only from day one. It was inspired(or bettered). They were working on the engine since last 5 years. Design hasnt changed much.

Yes, the design has been inspired by other bikes. But the talking point here is not the design, but the engine and its jaw-dropping performance. I took a test ride of it last week and booked it immediately. As they say, you have to actually ride it to feel it. Just take a test ride and I assure you that you'll comeback impressed like everyone did. It's a mix between performance and comfort. It fills the gap between KTMs and REs. I've booked the Volcano Red variant, and I am expecting delivery around 1st week of December.

Almost every moped on sale in India is a copy, err inspiration:
          1. ZMR v1 - ripped from the Hayabusa
          2. 200NS - Honda CB1000R
          3. KTM range - well, they are a little cheaper versions of themselves. No pun intended!
          4. Avenger - Harley
          5. ZMR v2 - EBR 1190RS
          6. All Pulsars' tail lamps - shamelessly copied Suzuki SV650
          7. Mojo - Malaguti MR250 - provided to Mahindra by the original designer Engines Engineering.
          8. CBR 250R - VFR 1200
          and so on!

I would say that the ZMR is a very close copy of the VFR 800 (not the 2015 version)

Also, Mahindra acquired Engines Engineering a long time back but then sold it back to the original owner - M&M takes U-turn: Sells stake in Engines Engineering - Moneycontrol.com

Like you mentioned, Engines Engineering has worked on the Malaguti MR250 - see the 'Works' section on this page - Engines Engineering Design Center
Maybe the Mojo was developed during that phase

Can't exactly call that a blatant copy since development on both started at the same time. Much like the rear portion of the new Honda City and Maruti Ciaz sedans.

You have got a point.. but I think energica prototype was first showcased in the year 2012.. I can't say when Bajaj started the design of RS series because I don't have any information.. All i know is, it was showcased in 2014.. that is 2 years gap in showcasing alone.. hence I was thinking in that perspective..
