My vote goes for cargo. Both have their own problems.

I think you can have it insured for some amount before transportation. That would be better. Better if you have the fairing removed and have it sent to you in a separate package by the courier. Gati is better than movers n packers I suppose. Many of my friends have used it.

Anyway in both railways and cargo I have heard of packages gettin damaged. Thats y my advice goes for the removal of fairing and getting it send in a diff package.

Any idea how much its gonna cost till Gauhati by Gati? If they remove the fairings, do you think the mechanics here can put it together?

Putting the fairing back should be easy for the mechanics ... If not then I m sure that you fill find instructions on it in various internet forums for kawasaki motorcycles and do it yourself....

It will be around 4000 bucks plus minus 500 !!!! I am considering the weight of the bike as 150 kg....

They will not ship the bike here. I bought it in my Uncle's name from Pune itself. I am just annoyed that it took so long yaar. Hopefully i will get it by this week. Navdeep, don't you think 4000 to 5000 is cheap bringing by airways? I am ignorant regarding this.

Gati has their own fleet of trucks.. If u use sth like bluedart which send packages by air then it will cost much more.
