Sometimes, reading reviews just don't cut it. Quantum of Solace definitely is not a stereotypical Bond movie. But it is a Bond movie, nonetheless and has a deeper meaning than just hacking and cracking your way through traps or puzzles etc etc. They try to portray Bond as more humane in this movie, more than ever before. It is the shortest Bond movie ever, so there is no chance you will get bored at all. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5. Go without any expectations and there is little chance you will be disappointed.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

Wall-E on DVD
A brilliant movie for any age group. A must watch definitely. It's one of the best pixar movies till date and I suggest reading wikipedia and IMDB once you have watched it.
9 out of 10.

I'm sorry man, but a Bond movie without "Q" is like a Vodka Martini that ain't shaken (See what I did there)? James Bond movies got their reputation following a certain stereotype and Daniel Craig is the polar opposite of that image. And as we know, re-inventing the wheel isn't always a good thing.
BTW, here's the bond-car on display at Cathay Cineplex. Quite amusing that a single rotation of the turntable took longer than the time the car spent on-screen...

Sony sponsors bond and hence showing VAIO or SE products as "invented by Q" does not cut it for Sony. Anyway I don't miss the Aston Martin too much when we get to see a DC-10 with MiGs. IMO it is a brilliant move away from gadgetry that used to do everything possible to allow Brosnan's suit to remain crease free. And the car did save 2 lives in Casino Royale.

Actually, Sony pictures is a different entity from Sony Electronics and Sony Ericsson.
That aside, "Q" specializes in making his wonder gadgets look like everyday objects. Perfectly acceptable if a Sony product does things it is not supposed to do.
Like I said, its a good action movie. Just doesn't cut it as a Bond movie. Not foe someone who grew up on Connery's version of the immortal character. Call me old fashioned, if you may...

This is very much true!!! 110% agree to it. Go without any inhibitions that ur watching a Bond movie and u will like it. As for the car, IIRC around 6 Aston Martins were used to film that single chase sequence....Originally posted by Synn View PostLike I said, its a good action movie. ... I guess most people like their Vodka Martini as it is. The movie is doing well in the worldwide box office
! One more thing point, Synn:- Disappointing reviews came out way back, before the movie released in the US, but it still has had its biggest ever opening in North America.
To each his own, I guess.

Short But not sweet review of HELLO: saw the movie two days back and the cost of sounding hyper critical (refer to short review of fashion & GM returns in my last post in this thread) will state that an opportunity is wasted. Its always a tough task to better someting which is good, but Jija Saala team made a terrible attempt and failed badly. The story was badly executed, acting didnt helped the case either and at end of the day we have another bad film.

The years wrapping up with little less exciting releases. Madagascar 2 will be releasing on the 19th of Dec and thats about it. 09 is ready to roll.
Death race has got decent reviews.
Quantum of solace was good, but there was no strong story to keep the viewers engaged. Out of all the hollywood releases this year, only a handful stood out and a few of em will surely make it to the oscars. Performance wise, i am yet to see a movie where i have been completely knocked out by a feat of knockout acting by Heath Ledger as the Joker. He was standout and I dont see a reason why he should not fetch an Oscar.
Next best was IronMan.
Dostana is truly a good movie...worth seeing than death race i guess."Never recreate from your memory, always imagine new places"
