        Hopefully,

        1. No more idle banter (you got facebook for that. Lets keep xbhp clean)
        2. No more unreadable sms language.
        3. All OTs and meaningless oneliners will be deleted.
        4. Personal attacks/Flaming/Too much fanboyism will be taken seriously.

Ah well, thats just my wishlist
The definition of "meaningless" changes from moderator to moderator and we wouldn't want this awesome forum to become unfavourable like the other forum who copied this idea from xBHP.

Other than that Aargee for the simple fact that he spends a lot of time on the forum.

DK - Already had a talk with him
You mean Vivaad champion? Yes his posting style has changed a lot.

DK Bhau will make an awesome moderator...(don't know if he will get the required time for it)

Aargee will make a superb moderator as he manages taking time out from his schedule to post some very useful content.

Even though he has already declined. I still the think the ideal moderator would be Payeng. I have yet to find a single post of his in which he has indulged in frivolous arguments.

Hats off to you bro for being a responsible xbhpian
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

thanks guys for proposing my name, i never felt that i m that popular.
but i don't think i am fit for job, maybe a couple of months earlier it would have been ok, or a couple of months later. from last few months my online activity is reduced partly due to my mom's poor health and subsequent surgery and from last one month i am doing daily up down from pune to aamby valley. so now i hardly get time to go online. the situation will change once i change my job to pune.

though i would love to be associated with xBhp in anyway i can.

and thankx samarth for sending me the link to this thread.

Oh those days... Actually, I was less informed about biking, and more "crazy for speeds" in those days. Speed was my measure of biking back then. Same thing showed on forums, as I was busy typing fast and posting without thinking about it. But quality comes at a price, doesn't it? One day, someone PM'ed me saying that "jaha bhi aap jatey ho, vivaad khada ho jata hai..." And I found it funny and added it to my profile... How stupid was that!

Took my own time learning stuff, and some personal offline incidents (including a bitter breakup in 2008) kept improving me, not only on Xbhp but in offline life too, as a person. And we're all still learning...

                ----
@ Guys: I can say that moderation can have the following good and bad points. Merits:

                1. Respect. You're a class above. It shows in people's behavior.
                2. Authority. to discuss site stuff, in moderator lounge.
                3. Even your regular posting gets better & faster (no more approvals of pics/ topics/ etc.)

                Demerits:

                1. Mod has to be responsible and mature. Like Satyen rightly said, being a mod means no more sarcastic/ immature/ leg pulling posts.

                2. More time on the site than usual member. You'll get more PM's, messages, etc. and pending work is also more. Your job, studies, etc. might suffer (or maybe not depending on your organizing),

                3. Have to handle all sorts of people. I remember that in mobilesmania (a mobiles site where I was a staff member), I gave a hint to a 20 posts member to stop posting Off topic content, only to be replied back by an essay on how forums are a place for freedom of expression and how one should not stop others from speaking their heart out!
I tried getting him to the right topic, again followed by a 12-15 lines post which I didn't read. Finally, an Admin had to step in, in my favor. This is the life of a mod.

                4. Its a thankless job. Usually No salary, no allowance. Instead, you're more likely to be receiving criticisms on your decisions. But in long term, often positive reputation outweighs the negative one.

So, Bouquets and Brickbats is what summarizes it best. A moderator is both a leader and a psychologist. One has to work wisely by experience, not by predefined codes. For example, take a case of a new member breaking rules:

                1. If a new member has spammed the site with unrelated advertisements, it would be better to ban him initially itself. Because he's most likely there for advertisement purpose only, so his ID holds no potential for our website and its useless trying to warn, etc..

                2. But if a new normally behaving member has on topic talks, arguments and fights, a warning might be better for obvious reasons. Every newbie takes time to adhere to a new site.

Whoever becomes the new moderator, A very Best of luck from my side. You'll see many new tabs and options on the site after being a moderator. Understand them well before using them and you should be fine. Wish everyone who applied all the best...

so when are those new moderators gonna hit the forum?
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
                        #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

                          2. Abhimanyu - This chap is an information warehouse!
                          3. Darknight: Why isnt his name mentioned here! Its been a while since we have had an active member as a moderator from this chapter of xBhp (Mumbai) which is super strong, super sensible, and growing. You wouldnt want this to end up the way Bangalore did do you? For that, this man our "Raaje" or Chingam is the guy!
                          4. Aargee - Though I have my reservations on whether or not he would want to take up the role!
                          5. Ninad Ambre - aka Nunu: Has way lot of time, works hard to ensure his is the last post on mumbai xBhp thread, extremely sensible rider (and extremely annoying on facebook :P we all could do with him away from facebook for a while)
                          6. worrisomebear: Another old chap who is now slowly going extinct but a very sensible contributor
                          7.RanjitMN: Another sensible poster

and no I wouldnt post Samarths name, atleast not yet. Though the way he has matured from the old xbhp days to BikeIndia forums to now is incredible!

Phew! See this is one post that a mod might not have done! (even if it meant doing so under the garb of xPolice!)
Thanks Satyen for the kind words.. its just that I am based out of London ..but i try to be more hooked on ....though i do check site religiously every day..thanks mate

I have request instead of appointing moderators for whole forum can we appoint mod's for selected forums (like for ownership forums Argee or some other person and for other threads some other guy )
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

what an brilliant idea .. for each sections like .. news/introduciton/travel/etc..etc.. it will be most appropriate to appoint mods and assign complete one section to one person .. in that case it will be easy to manage

I think Satyen, Antz Bin and DK should take up the responsibility.
The reason being they dont mock at other's posts, they dont even complain if something has gone wrong, they simply make the member understand. This must be the most simplest manner i can put forward the vote (if there is any).

Controlling a ownership thread or giving replies on every thread is noway or is certainly not an eligible criteria for being a mod. I hope the current mods understand this and then take a feasible solution. Whatever it is, all the best from my side.
