Re: Music systems. (headset, home theatre, sound systems etc etc)
The problem is with two things, either the lens mechanism Id too old to read RW formats or the writing speed is the issue. So, try burning with 4x it something and do check...Originally posted by Shibadip View Post

About the lens - Yes the music system is old.. (almost 10yrs). But it had read the same CD RW earlier. But now it is not reading. Howver the CD is playing perfectly on other players.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostThe problem is with two things, either the lens mechanism Id too old to read RW formats or the writing speed is the issue. Certified Sound Engineer ...and pursuing career in FM ?...you are into hardware or software ?..Good to know of your interest.....since I also have similar interest.Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostGood to see a thread dedicated to sound here... Let me see if I can be of any help to fellow members here. Btw. I'm a certified Sound Engineer valid over 16 countries currently pursuing my career in FM radio
First of all the CD players of yester years will not recognize Re-writable CDs....Secondly if the mastering software and Format is non compatible then there will be problems in reading the Disc...As technology improved the Formats became many and so the reading software is also required to be compatible to decode this.....try Nero 6 it is simple and compatible with most system requirements of older formats .Originally posted by Shibadip View PostIn that case, can you offer me a solution for the problem here - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/coffee-l...tml#post866065
I now know what the problem is. All i need now is a Solution. Will burning the CD with old Nero software (Say nero 5/6) will solve the problem??When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Must be the lens that is the culprit, even my old Philips and grundig gmbh players won't recognize modern formats other than the good old audio cd's but there quality of output and snr is par than the new age ones...Originally posted by Shibadip View PostAbout the lens - Yes the music system is old.. I do similar work except that i don't do the actual audio dub,mix and mastering, but design and build audio studios using Apple Power Mac with Pro Tools HD...I am also into acoustics for the studio or professional sound rooms, and home theaters, using " U " boat suspension... Pro Tools is widely used and it is the preferred software... in the Cine Industry,Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostPSR ji, I'm into Radio production using Vegas, protools and nuendo plus I also take Care of music management and radio Transmission from scratch to final stages

hey buddy, u can sell your system to me...Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostI don't know if this is the right place, but if anyone knows of a dvd player which can give an optical output? My 5.1 speakers accept optical in for Dolby EX and DTS Neo. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Actally my LG TV only gives out optical output, and i cannot find a Home Theater System (in reasonable price) which has a optical in..
On a serious note, can u pls specify the make and price and reliability (if its a china made one) of ur music system.
for the DVD hunt for a Samsung or LG dvd.
I have a new LG dvd (used only two times, and i got it free with the TV) which has that optical out.. Am outstation. if u want, i can give u the model no. once i get to hometown.sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.

My system is at home in India. It is the Logitech Z5500 THX certified 5.1 system. Running through creative x-fi titanium soundcard on my pc. The soundcard has optical out. I now want it to connect to dvd player and thus tv. Might buy a new TV soon. This diwali when I come back to India.Originally posted by Shibadip View Posthey buddy, u can sell your system to me...

Most stand alone DVD players have Optical out put now...including the cheaper Chinese and Korean ones.Originally posted by nitrosatya View PostI don't know if this is the right place, but if anyone knows of a dvd player which can give an optical output? If you are going to buy a new DVD player try to get a Blue ray one since the trend is moving towards it.
In Opticals, SONY, Philips, B&O, Pioneer, are some of the Good Quality manufacturers .When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.
