Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
The only thing I would touch on a rc is the seat, I always wondered what it felt like.. Otherwise its indecent to sit on the bike, fiddling is just being a ungrateful ass.Originally posted by Nickyboy View PostPeople will touch your bike if you place it in a crowded place. I try to avoid parking my bike at such places, even if I do and people touch my bike it's okay
they are just checking the beauty of my bike and we are bikers not haters who would beat the shit out of them. I just smile and let them do what they what to, sometimes they say can I have a pic and I click it for them
it's just cool and make a bikers image more calmer. But as said on the above post some one with a mentality of scratching it and saying "kya ukhad lega be" then I may need to treat him as the way he wants to be treated.
Just chill let them touch, let them sit just make sure they are not scratching or touching your bike down.

Hahaha. And here I was thinking about buying Xena disc locks.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostI had my bike's rear footrest stolen in 2011 in Chennai. Such is the level thieves have stopped to these days.
Apparently after reading these posts I have realized that India has so much of 'Skilled Labour' that I would not be amazed to see the front wheel balanced on a rod so as not to fire the alarm, and the rest of the bike missing!

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
Can relate to this topic. My baby p150 was all polished and parked at the corner of a road, with me admiring it from a distance. Suddenly a lady with 'L' sign on a red activa comes out of nowhere, hits my bike making it fall into the trench nearby and speeds away ! I could not follow since I got wound up checking damages caused. Ended with a dent on tank, a big scratch on the tail section, and a damaged exhaust metal cover, damaged end weights of handle bar. Damn !

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
I have a real concern about this. I may be coming back to India in the near future, and if I do, I'll be bringing my Super Tenere with me. I have no doubt it will attract a lot of attention, and I am concerned about people fooling around with it while I can't see what's happening. I don't want anyone climbing on the bike or pretending to ride it while I'm away. First, the bike is huge. I'm pretty tall, and even I have trouble touching the ground with both feet while sitting on the thing. Second, it's heavy, and somewhat top-heavy at that. The bike weighs over 250kg. If it falls over, it's going to be a pain to lift, and would injure someone if they got pinned under it. Third, it's expensive. The comparable cost of the bike in India would be around 20lakh. I have to worry about the cost of both accidental damage from idiots who misjudge the bike, and deliberate vandalism from jealous bystanders.
I'm thinking I may have to carry a full-bike cover with me; one that I can lock onto the bike. That may prevent at least most of the trouble. With the cover on it, it will be hard to get at the bodywork to damage it, or to remove parts or otherwise vandalize the bike. It also makes it unworkable to get on the bike, and with the cover, there's no point in taking pictures. It'll have to be a heavy cover, though, because a thin nylon cover would be easy for a miscreant to cut through.
Additionally, such an expensive bike can also prompt a more VIP-level of treatment, which means I may be able to park in areas that are normally off-limits to the public, and which are under better surveillance.ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time!
Current bike: Yamaha XT1200Z Super Tenere
Put the phone away, put your helmet on, and ride!

I am thinking of installing a anti theft alarm in my bike, saw it on a ducati panigale, when the bike handle is locked and if anyone rev's the throttle, press the clutch or brake it would raise a loud alarm to scare off the person unecessary trying to fiddle with the bike.Last edited by Om1234; 01-30-2018, 12:29 AM.
