Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
This happened a week after I got my Hyosung GT250R. Parked it in the staff parking of a restaurant( the staff didn't mind) . At night, some drunk louts tried sitting on it. It fell and crashed into the nearby railing. Broken mirror, brake lever, engine cowl and headlight fairing
And then again! The same week,Someone kicked it off the stand at night and let it drop. Now the left fairing has a huge 6 inch crack and I had to order a new mirror set. It really hurts
My father doesn't believe me and thinks I crashed.
And if I ever find the people responsible for damage....

No problems when done responsibly .... Definitely want to kick their a###s if want play around... I really have no words when a adult is accelerating a bike with locked handle... As in what are they exactly thinking !!! A child does that...I still understand. When I see scratches... I really curse them.. I also forgive if done by an innocent child. Ideally their parents should educate them when young or else they keep doing this till they die. Actually just by reading comments... I got pissed.

Same here with my Duke. But I try to keep a close watch from afar until they start fiddling. If I go sooner near my bike I have to answer hundreds of questions ..the most frequent being "Yeh yamaha ki hai na"

the problem is not the kid but the"asshole" parents who themselves don't have any value or morale to live with neither teach their kids.Originally posted by plexus View PostKeep the bass going on. basically i assume them as worst than insects living without any reason and respect on this planet but nowadays i let the windows crackle and wait for them to come knock my door
and ask me to lower the volume. the day they come is when they are gonna get some real good polite words...
being polite and nice is not what these idiots deserve. just cant hit these idiots black and blue."A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel."

very true polite words just don't work , today found pieces of omelet on top of the seat, these people just dont understand, the problem is that due to late night part time job i wake up late by 10:00AM will wake up tomorrow early and catch them red handed , and use a bit of passive aggressive grammar. thats the way to go now.Originally posted by theironhorse99 View Postthe problem is not the kid but the"asshole" parents who themselves don't have any value or morale to live with neither teach their kids.

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
People can't be changed... They will continue to do what they do..they cannot even be convinced that what they are doing is wrong.. Best we can do is keep an eye on the bike when leaving it in a public place..
This incident happened to me few days ago.. Two people were riding on the bike in front of me, one of them spat and it feel on me, I wasn't in mood for a fight so I just gave him a stare and rode off, he went past me when I stopped for fuel and was waiting at the next signal.. When I reached there he started arguing about why I stared at him.. He spoke as if spitting on me wasn't his mistake at all.. I wanted to smash his head with my helmet.. I was late for an exam so had to force myself to leave...
With such people out there, its an everyday struggle keeping ourselves and the bikes safe
We should ride on

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
I feel like burning those bastards alive, who do.not care for someone's hard earned money.
Why so much of frustration, because yesterday someone scratched the tank of my my baby ceeber 250. I adore it like my own child and looking at those scratches, kills me.
Aren't there any ways to stop all the nuisances.
Can we use some sort of alert system which.notifies us when someone touches the bike ?
Plesase let me know.
A sad biker for today,
Sanjay

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
I don't mind people touching ma bike or sitting on them . But I don't want them to make any scratches or damage to ma bike . I don't promote random people riding a bike . I believe one bike is meant for one person .. Noone else can give a better care for the bike than itz owner .

These rogues does not find a better place to seat their arse elsewhere. They dont bother, just come, lay thy hands and legs where ever they feel. I had once parked in a restaurant and saw few people coming around and looking at my bike. I was able to clearly see from the first floor. One jackass put his leg on the seat and was tying his shoes, I just popped downstairs and didnt even think for a split second....phattttt...i gave a whack on his head and uttered few good sounding words which made people finch their eyes,
I know what i did was wrong, but i dont regret raising the stick to whoop their ass once again if i find something like this happening again...R15S - Current

hi brother,
I completely agree with you. Today, people don't understand any good advice. They just understand a tight and loud music around their faces. Nobody tries to fiddle around with cars, especially if they are big and expensive, because, first, cars are locked and closed within, and secondly, they know that, all their arrogance and attitude will be slapped back on their sorry faces in seconds by the rich and powerful owners. But bikes are open, and their owners are considered --AAM AADMI,
who can be tackled.
Honestly speaking, only very few people actually respect and love bikes in our country. Most of them are posers. You can't expect the brain and intelligence of a german shephard from a donkey. A donkey is a donkey, because his parents are also donkeys. Most of todays parents have no values, courtseys, manners, and most importantly--common sense. So, how can you expect them to teach their kids any of these important traits. Most of them are bigger morons than their kids.
I have seen youngsters standing and putting all their over-weight fat ass bodies on the bikes on their side-stands. If an old person takes a breather and stands alongside a bike and I see him or her, I will go myself and help them. I understand that. But, how come a 16 year old young guy needs the support of a bike on a side-stand to make him stand-still on planet earth.
And you know the worst part of this--- if you happen to own a very sexy bike like a KTM or a NINJA or a sportsbike or a very popular model, for example, like an RX-100 or an old cast iron bullet, it just becomes from worse to unbearable. I own a YAMAHA RX-135 5 speed, which was and still is a hugely popular model. But, I can't leave her anywhere out of my sight, for more than 5-10 minutes, because, every now and then, some over-smart ass try to act smart and start fiddling with the bike. Most of them try to sit on the bike, and then try to ride a turned off and locked bike, and when you catch some of them red-handed, suddenly, they become friendly and start appreciating the bike, even narrating their wheelie records on RX-100s and shoguns and boasting that how, they were cousins of rossis and marc marquezs in their youth.
Once, some over- jealous guy had put a thin wooden stick in the 2T oil pipe of my bike, to prevent 2T oil going inside, to damage my engine. Thank GOD, I always put some 2T oil in the petrol tank as well. That saved my bike's engine that day, as I came from malviya nagar to pitam pura, which is almost 20- 25 kms distance.
Luckily, I went to my mechanic in pitam pura for a routine check-up same evening, and he then told me, that he found that wooden stick in that pipe in the check-up. I felt so angry and so bad, that people could stoop to such lowest of the lowest levels, just to satisfy their own jealousy.

Today, people have no feel or respect for others love and effort, that they give in order to preserve their bike. They just don't care at all. The best way to keep the wolves away is to become the tiger yourself, and don't let your beloved bike stay out of your sights at all. I straight away deny any request of a ride or a sitting pose on my bike bluntly-- to friends, relatives, cousins, strangers, neighbours, basically everyone and anyone, except my mechanic--that too, only when necessary.
I myself never allow anyone to come near my beloved steed, because in today's world and time, no one actually cares about your love and passion and attachment with your bike. They find it old-fashioned and useless. Honestly, they don't love bikes and biking, for them, bikes are like showpieces for posing, nothing else. People today are scoring 99.99% in exams, but sadly, they are failing badly in understanding other people's effort and love.
OH !!! my neighbour has bought a KTM,
I will buy more expensive NINJA or an R3.
That's it... Nobody thinks beyond this nowdays.Last edited by portedyammie; 08-24-2016, 04:24 PM.

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
If I caught anyone sitting on my bike and fiddling with it, I try to educate them as to what they can do and what they cannot. I know in most of the cases, it happens when we are not around. Can't help it and at the same time cannot control our emotions. At the end of the day, our bikes are our blood, sweat and result of hard work. I don't like anyone hurting me there. I would turn into a Hulk if anyone tries to harm me there.Everybody has their own version of TRUTH!!!!!!

Re: How do you feel about random people touching your bike?
I was visiting chikmaglur and stayed at a hotel. After roaming a while I parked my bike in front of hotel(RTR 200, pretty new for chikmaglur , so many staring and glance that my friend riding pillion asked why they are Looking at us like this), went to room and came out for buy the water bottle.
There I saw the one counter staff seating on bike while its on side stand and 2-3 people touching the bike here and there. I really did not like that and told him to do not do that. He pointed to one bike behind and told that is his bike and he knows stuff and it won't harm but I insisted and parked the bike on centre stand now.
When I returned with water after few minutes, crowd was still there around the bike, I asked them that I want to park in their one way parking( a narrow street where there was space for only one bike and if yours is behind any other bike you have to keep the handle the unlock ).
I got furious , what kind of hotel they have, first staff is not respecting the belongings of customers and then no proper parking. After some arguments I managed to park my bike with handle lock (I know lock does not guarantee safety but just for sake of peace of mind that I did all I have to keep it safe).
I can't judge if I did wrong or right but I think I do not like if someone do anything to bike other than admiring [emoji3] .
Even I do not even touch someone's bike. But have taken photos [emoji12] [emoji6] .
