            • FIAT LINEA ICE clarifications

Guys, I'm not a member of the car forums but i need some ICE clarifications. Thought most of 'em would have knowledge of 4 wheelers too so i'm posting my clarifications here.

              1. Does anybody here at xBhp own a fiat linea ? If so can you tell me what size of speakers can be fitted into speaker enclosures available on the doors (front & rear).
              2. Somewhere on the net I read that the linea front would take 5" and rear would take 4", can anybody confirm on this ?
              3. Say if the sizes are front 5" and rear 4", can we fit 6.5" speakers in the door enclosures of all 4 doors.

I tried a couple of ICE installers and they say 6.5" can be fit into all 4 door enclosures of linea. From the interaction i had with them I get the feeling that they might have not actully worked on a linea but they blindly insist that this can be done to get business.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions/comments.

              • My dad owns a Swift ZXi and I bought myself a second hand 05 model Hyundai Accent GLS .. I love driving as much as I love riding bikes.. but in the end I think bike riding is a lot more fun nothing to beat it..
There are two types of people in this world, people who ride motorcycles and people who wish they could ride motorcycles

                2005-present - Hyundai Accent GLS 1.6 | 2006-present - Maruti Swift ZXi | 2002-2006 Maruti 800 DX (sold)

                2009-present - Pulsar 220 DTS-i | 2007-2009 Pulsar 200 DTS-i (sold) | 2003-2007 Honda Dio (sold) | 1997-present - Kinetic Honda ZX

                • I drive a Ford Mondeo COSWORTH.
Locking the front and flipping is the worst experience you could err experience.

                  • COSWORTH as in?? I know Cosworth is a tuning firm from England who used to building F1 engines since the the 1960's and tune up Ford Escorts and other British Ford products, so how much of the Mondeo you have is "COSWORTHed" could you elaborate?
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

                      • We have Alto (2008 Model LXi), this is second Alto of our household, we sold of 2003 Alto after 83,000kms and got fantastic resale value.
Pros: Negligible maitainence, Trouble free and highly fuel efficient engine, A/C is good, power steering is helpful....superb re-sale value.
Cons : Interiors are bad, uncomfortable on long drives for driver as well as occupants.

                        • Hello car experts, i need your help to buy a second hand car, i and my wife are frequent long drive riders, now i want to buy my first car in pune, i am planning to go for a second hand car a zen or alto, i have checked out a zen 2004 vxi model drove for 45k kms and the guy is asking 2 lacs for the same and second theres is one more zen which is a 2002 model well maintained and all the guy is asking me 90k for the same which has a mileage of 75k kms, now my question is is it worth spending 90 k for a car done 75k kms and what abut the maintenance running in long run as i am planning to keep the car for next 5 years and then sell out, also i would like to ask you people what are the points to check when i go to see some other second hand cars.I would be using this car mostly in city and at times for trip to goa or banglore

                          Replies will be appreciated

                            > Zero in on Maruti only for IInd cars....prefer to buy from trusted friends and contacts and not through auto consultants who reset kms on speedo and manipulate the car for purchase...
                            > Zen is good / reliable car, you get 2003-2004 for about 1.75 lacs (less than 40k kms done), just try, put ad in web and approach only individual owners.
                            > ALTO resale is very less, even if you get one the cost will be higher and if the cost is low expect the car to have some bad history !
                            > Try Maruti IInd hand showroom, you may pay 10-20K more but you'll have warranty and other support from them.
                            > Prefer to test mileage of the car before buying, anything above 13-15kmpl means 'well maintained good engine'

                                Nope!

But do test the mileage before deciding.
Reason, good mileage = maintained engine!
