The cam which m lookin for is out of stock with them..

But i wud love to make a deal with them..Just wanted to confirm..Is the site good ? I mean reliable? Cuase i've never done such a big online shopping before.. so dont hav much idea.. Is it safe to make a deal with the site? Has anyone from ur recognision done any deal with the site?

do check with your local cam guy regarding this cam.for prosumers price hardly fluctuates..thats what i observed.DSLRS have a high fluctuation rate.

whizz is offering the nikon coolpix s210 for 9995. You have the option of paying them in 12 installments with 0 percent interest on emis if you have an icici credit card. So you could look at that option as well. They have a fujifilm dslr also at 13k I guess.

Finally, i am a happy DSLR owner Had this desire for a long long time.

Purchased a Nikon D40 with kit lens in hong kong baazar (opposite national market). Had been to the Chickpet shot too. Both quoted the same price - Rs 18800. But the differentiator was that the guy i purchased from (Vinod) gave me a 15 day warranty against any defects (which excludes a broken lens )

My Bad. I got it all wrong. The DSLR I was talking about turns out to be the prosumer with 10X optical zoom. Me, being an absolute novice got deceived by the newspaper advert on midday. It comes in at around 10999. After some googling, I found this this link. whizz

Hey guys, now that i m done with my decision of buying the cam, can someone from Mumbai/Pune tell me bout some places where I can buy tripods n cam pouches at cheaper rates? I dont want any high end tripod, just the basic one.

I would like to buy these things personaly instead of ordering them thru some web site.

Any such shops in Mumbai/Pune?

The D40 seems so small! Litrelly!!

Its a bit funny to hold with one hand. Would have liked a bit bigger hand grip but that is just me. All the controls are well within the range of your fingers and are comfortable. The info and the exposure compensation button are hard to activate (the ones behind the shutter release button). They are too small and you would have to press hard to actually push them down.

Took some pictures, they look way better compared to the quality of the Panasonic DMC FX-09 i used earlier. Resolution, color reproduction etc.

For a person like me who does not 'print' photoes, but only saves it on the computer and enjoys it watching either on the monitor / tv..... anything above 6 mega pixels would translate to more space on the computer (the file size with "JPEG Fine" setting is in the 2.5 MB range). I am very happy with the quality offered by the 6MP Sensor on the D40.

Well first impressions got to be brief so i'll stop

On a trip you might really want to shoot atleast 10 pics in RAW mode just to make sure you can get the best out of a scene. But its of no use in case you dont purchase Nikons Capture NX / the plugin for Photo Shop CS (called camera raw). FYI you dont get anything with the camera..... purchase them to use RAW.

I'll need a long time (accompanied by two to three enriching experiences over two to three road trips) to actually comment on why i might need extra lenses. This baby is gonna keep me busy and far from being bored in a long time to come.

Hey man i have hot the same cam, well mine is 5800. A very nice camera and will definitely recommend you if you are short on budget. I mean if you have a bigger budget n will upgrade for dslr in future, its a very nice Bridge CAMERA.
If you intend to stick to Just a humble pns then ill recommend you upgrade to a slightly better prosumer.
Btw i think it will come more cheaper than the rate quoted.
