Thanks, for the info. I am suggesting P90 along with Canon SX20 and not D90. Well, me being a believer of using what the product is made for, never thought of the Video part on a Digital Camera. But yes, Digital Cameras are used for occasional video shoots. I guess its upto buyer's priorities.

Do those lenses happen to have an "USM" or "L" in it?

Yes, both of these terminologies, actually, Praful!

            1. Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L USM

            2. Canon EF-S 10-22mm f3.5-f4.5 USM
            :)

                  • @praful: It was Avin buying the cameras. If he intends on using it himself, I truly think he deserves a DSLR. The things he does with P&Ses...

In the gray market (which I am aiming to get it from, OBVIOUSLY), it's priced at Rs. 67,200/- currently. Canon has hiked their lens' prices recently, unfortunately. About a month or so back, it was priced at Rs.55,000/- odd, gray market.

The actual price with bill and warranty is Rs.89,990/- or thereabouts.

@Pranay: It's always lovely to discuss about cameras and optics!

                      • @ pranay mashmash praful Thanks guys..

This was for 2 different friends of mine.

The sub 25k category got fixed at the p90.. he went ga ga over the 24x zoom and 12.1 megs.

The sub 15k is still on though.

Well the requirements would be a mix of both actually. A few manual modes to play around with and pocket friendly(as in fits in the pocket). the olympus one really got the attention as it has a 7x optical zoom and 10 megs. and quite a few present scene modes to play around with.

Li-ion battery is definitely a must.

                        • @pranay: Like I said in my previous post it all depends what the use its going to be put through, who's going to use and is there a scope for further investment.

As for Avin, he'll do wonders irrespecitve of the camera in front of him.

                          Im at home saar...

Avin, I would suggest the your Sub 15K friend to add around 1K more and get FZ28 plus goodies. It would be worth it.

Yep & thats why I feel that I should get hold of the technical side & polish it on a Higher end P&S like SX10/20 IS or similar before jumping on to a DSLR.
