trip to kerala is definetly due.I have had just one decent ride this year .With the TN summer and me falling ill during the monsoons, touring had to take a backseat .I guess I should be back on the road pretty soon.

            • At last I've collected around rs.15000...now I'm looking a real nice digital camera. I know I can't get a DSLR but can anyone suggest me the best buy.
              How good are fujifilm?
I've selected S1500 that fits into my budget but skeptical, whenever the word camera comes, CANON comes in my mind.
              please someone help me out.
              S1500@ rs.11000

              Also S2000HD @ rs.12800

I personally love cameras from the Sony Cybershot line at that price. Just walk in a Sony World and look for cameras below 10k. The plus points for Sony cameras are good standby time and user friendly interface. If you find a camera with a Carl Zeiss lens beneath 10k, that would be a bonus...
Here are some cameras which I checked up on the sony India website:
                    http://www.sony.co.in/product/dsc-w210 @ 11990 with Carl Zeiss optics
http://www.sony.co.in/product/DSC-W180 @8990 with Sony optics. Don't go for the Rs.1000 more expensive W190 here.

                    Hope this helps.

I have not used this camera, so can't comment. If you can somehow save a little more money and get a brand new Canon S5IS at around Rs.17,000 - 18,000, that would be great. This is last year's model and some dealers should still have it. This was a pretty popular model, so you might have some hunting to do to locate some back stock.

                              I own an Ixus 80.
Bought it for 11k last year.

Its a fine camera with good battery life. But after buying it i started getting more interested in photography. And now the camera doesnt meet my expectations.
(It doesnt allow any manual control over aperture or shutter speed.
                              Images are soft kind of.
There is visible noise from ISO 200.(what else to expect from a P&S? )
And the shutterlag causes me to miss key shots during some fast action
                              )
For casual purposes i would still recomment it.Most people wont notice all the things i said. But if you like photography, go for something which offers you more control.Really depends on your NEED.
