1. I would not advice getting a Sony Xperia for anything..neither to be used as a secondary/start-up gadget to take pics nor as a phone. Get a Lumia (520), it is an excellent VFM phone. You might get an exchange price for your existing sony.

2. Read in one of your posts that you would consider Sony H300 cam. As I have already said, PLEASE DONT. Rest is up to you.

Lastly, I would suggest you to start with a Bridge cam/Advanced P&S instead of a basic entry level pocket-able P&S. A bridge camera will keep you happy for a long time and would serve in most of the situations. Even a bridge camera can do A LOT of stuff than most think. Even if you have to wait for some time to save for an bridge cam which is above your budget right now, wait and save up. Or buy a cam first and phone later.

After getting the Lumia 820, i bought myself a Nikon D5100.. awesome I must say...

Rakesh buddy, go for the Lumia series.. if possible the 720.. it has one of the best cams though it comes with a 6.7MP cam. It has better clarity and night shots conpared to my 820

Will think about it and ask the pricing at the nearest outlet and see how is it, also one of my friend uses the same Lumia 720, he too said it's one of the best phones at present and asked me to get the same if possible , I am still in kinda confusion windows 8 ???? U know many say no for windows 8 as it isn't that user friendly blah blah blah, so that's the reason I am thinking about one. . . What about 520 or 625. . ? Main thing here is that if I buy something around 18-20k for a mobile, then either I should wait for a long time to get a DSLR directly or I should compromise for a normal point and shoot or bridge for that sense. . . Or else, if I buy a decent camera phone around 12-13k then I can get a good bridge or point and shoot whichever you say is good bit quickly. . . That's the present problem here , hope you understand. . . So give me a good option in a little less price or else I can buy a lumia 720 or something similar in that price tag, then for some time, I should forget the dream of owning a bridge camera for some time. . .

@g K thanks mate and please please please name some of the best bridge cams mate, I need the exact name/brand so I can purchase one, without knowing which is the best one, I might end up buy something else , so please mention the name, also I dint get a notification that you mentioned, guess you should mention me as @Rakesh Rok rather than @Rakesh Rok, don't bold the name or underline it, I won't get a notification for that. . . As for phone discussion, I don't think you would get a fair advice from a mobile shop owner..Reneav is vouching for Win so am I..Problem with Win 8??? I am hearing this for the first time..
The thing with windows vs android is that majority people follow herd mentality..if people around them have a android they would feel misfit having a windows phone..just to fit in there and be cool like everybody else flashing their new giant screen android device..I bet most aren't even aware of more that 30% of that phones capability and functionality (no offense to anybody, don't mean to pass a generalized judgement here )
And once they have got a particular phone, they will never say its bad; now it would be the worlds best phone and you would be an idiot getting anything else apart from that, acc to them. So take my advice, I don't own any of them.

When somebody gives you a negative opinion about anything, keep questioning them on what they say.."not user friendly?" "how?"; "problem in Win 8?" "what problem?" and you would see that they don't have an answer for your question because in all probability they would just be speaking out of hearsay!!

I hope this will clear my point- Whats right is not always popular and whats popular is not always right.

As for camera model, decide on phone first and then we'll move on to camera based on your remaining budget

Bro enquired in my friend's shop now, he said the pricing of these as follows (not approximate though),
1. Lumia 520 - 10k. . .
2. Xperia M - Guess 12k . . .
3. Xperia L - 15.5k. . .
4. Lumia 625 - 16.5k. . .
5. Lumia 720 - Guess he said 17.5 or 18k, seeing all these guess xperia L is a better buy considering the pricing has come down, cos earlier it was around 17.5-18k, I was still in that price range , now that it's reduced I can think of it but still Lumia 720 is higher compared to it. . .
6. Samsung Grand - Dint like it though but still looks like a good buy, he quoted 17k for it. . .

So after all this, will plan it out and see which will come in a good price range and buy one . . .

No this time too I dint get a notification , also add "@" symbol, guess when you copy from my bar, either you paste that in a notepad and then paste it back or else just type my name like that, guess that'd give me a notification. . .

About the camera and other stuffs, indeed you are right, I guess am sought of like that now, herd mentality guy . . . But speaking again they say that windows isn't that user friendly as android phones and also considering windows have less apps, would also keep me thinking. . .

Spoke with that mobile shop guy, as said he's a friend of mine, he gave me the price listing as above and we had a little chat about it and then he said it's better to go for Xperia L, . . He even said some other stuffs like you all did, saying that the quality of Lumia 720 too is also good but Xperia L seems a better option for you, considering your needs and also that I want something good in a lesser price tag. . . The pricings are as listed above. . .

PS: I won't be taking any printouts of my photographs which I take, at least I hope not for now. . .

I don't know what anybody can do with just 4/8GB of internal memory (user available is even less) in an Android phone that most of the Xperia range offers.
Combined with a dull pathetic TFT display!! And most of them have a always crying battery that cannot be removed.

^^ These are pretty much deal-breaker things for me at least.

Total memory for L is 8GB out of which 5.8 GB is useable memory, which as I said won't install too heavy apps too , just some basic apps like xbhp and others, along with some games, that's it. . . It has a 1GB RAM and display is quite good and yes you are sure right about that, battery back up ain't that good for xperia L but one thing's good is that it has a removable battery unlike other Xperia series, at least very few have them. . .

PS: Isn't Lumia 520 too low on the camera side and how is the clarity of it. . ? Personally I liked L's as well as Lumia 720's camera quality, as I said my friend has a 720 and he sent me some pics to show the quality of it and I was really impressed by its detailed images, also in office here one person has a L and I was too happy with that's clarity but again as the pricing is the main issue now, need something less than 15k to get myself a bridge cam next or else will have to wait for long time or either get a pns instead. . .

BTW, you still dint say the name some of good Bridge Cameras. . .

saale.. Am telling you and I even sent the link where you can get the Lumia 720 for 15500 after 750 discount.. That's the best buy..

In android, 1gb ram isn't sufficient.. The Grand dies out so soon though it has 1gb ram.. 512mb ram of windows phone is equivalent to 1gb ram of android..

You will get whatever important apps in windows.. And trust me, u ain't gonna use all the apps in the play store..

But at the end.. its you who is gonna be using it so but whichever is suitable for you..

My instinct always said dont trust sony anymore..

Guyz how is micromax canvas HD... I wanted to buy that but some reviews said that it had gps problem and that gps doesn't get lock properly. Although some websites tend to solve the issue quite easily others say its a.real big issue.

As i will be using it for navigation...gps is a major criteria...

Anybody....??

Otherwise seems to be a VFM phone.

I stopped relying on Google maps as they got me lost and stranded twice.. i trust the nokia maps and their navigation as they have always taken me to the right spot on and their gps is faster compared to any android gps i have used..

Sorry.. haven't used Micromax so I am not sure about it..

Errrr ya you are right but again blind love towards Sony is what makes me think L is better 720 , either way will see which is best and which I like and buy that one, probably as I said it's asking me to go for L itself considering the fact that it is priced lesser than 720 and more affordable if I buy it from my friend's shop , I'll just extend the days still more further the take some time to decide between the two. . .

L820 mmmmh seems to have a good price tag too, flipkart it's around 14k, not bad I guess about the price, @g K and Reneav what you say. . ?
