i personally feel the sx10 is a bit cramped. 10MP on a 1/2.3" with 20x optical!claustrophobic.

but for some 26k u get the s100fs.film simulation,dynamic range control(which works)14x MANUAL barrel zoom 9mp on a 2/3 sensor.ie more cleaner images than the above.but like i said before,for quality u have to end up paying a fortune.there are no stupid questions.

^^ I have used a Manual Oly, and shutter lag it had was unacceptable, but maybe they have improved lately, however if given a choice i would consider Panasonic as second best after Canon, their Lumix lenses are a revelation!Comment

^^ Try shooting Sukhoi at 20x zoom when the subject is in supersonic motion .. My friend with a S3-IS tried and ended up with lotza silhoutte with no jets , it was sky sky everywhere in all the shots ...
To compensate on the frustration he took lotza shot of static Jets in display
