Anyways, thanks for ur inputs...please do provide me contacts of some bamboo vendors which you will recommend. Assuming that this bombastic contraption of yours actually worked....

PS: If you do the math its actually around the same cost...how?

      Here's how:-
      Bamboo - 20/-
      Litre of Petrol - 72/- (Speed97)
Lunch for self and friend - 300/- (he will need the energy)
Plate - 50/- (can't risk stealing from kitchen)
Knife for cutting bamboo - 150/- (Need a big sharp one for this)
      ______________________________
      Total ---- 592/-

      (Bahut paka liya.....phew!)
Spend 20 more bucks and get one extra bamboo stick, u'll get four tripods ..

          • Gorillapods aren't the cheapest ones available. As per Praful's post, his first priority is budget.

BTW praful, make sure you get those bamboos in 3 different sizes, so you can put one inside another and make a foldable tripod

            Sorry for OT, couldn't resist

@animeher- just close ur eyes and imagine the structure u r planning to get out of three bamboos one inside the other. Praful needs a tripod not a bofors.

              • Imagine 3 bofors stuck together to form a tripod, then it is a foldable tripod

                        • always in my mind..LHS=RHS..

                          where LHS was tripod

                          and RHS was manfrotto.

EDIT:in DSLRS you use your viewfinder more than the LCD.at that point of budget i think there will not be any maneuverable LCD ones..LIVE VIEW may be..
                          there are no stupid questions.

With a budget of 35-40k, it depends what you want to get into. The story does not end by JUST getting a D-SLR, instead, it just starts with the acquisition of the camera. The list of lenses is really mind-boggling, unlike a digital camera where 'one thing does all'.

I would suggest decide on what you want. First of all decide on a system that you want to get into - Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc. and then start by getting the actual camera.

As for "Live View", you can go for the Canon EOS 450D but I really don't think that would give you the kind of functionality a swiveling LCD screen of a digital camera would give you. In certain situations, the live view might come in handy (like in extreme macro shots), but otherwise the VF (View Finder) does the job wonderfully well.
                            :)

sony doesnt come..into that standard budget.getting minolta lenses will be somewhat difficult.

my personal suggestion will be to break the ice and go for a pentax K200D.its a real VFM DSLR.the only BIG downside is that the sensor is a CCD.

Dont expect him to answer ur call quickly. The shop is always crowded and he does not deal with more than one customer at a time. Your best chance is go to the shop directly.

Yep, I do have it. Paid 950 bucks, and it is definitely worth it.
