Rachit, I hope you can help me with uploading images from phone. I'm accessing xBhp from phone via the Android App. In this when I try to upload an image a progress is shown and then it shows a message like 'You are not logged in or you don't have the privilege to do this action'. I cannot upload images from office as a certificate is installed in browsers which limit the size of files that can be uploaded and file upload in general will be blocked. Cannot even upload to picassa or google+ as both of them are blocked.

tried uploading to xBhp website using the image button in the edit window, but then also progress is shown till the upload is done, but the file won't appear in the window. An exclamation mark is shown at the right hand side of the progress bar. The file size and the size shown in upload window are the same.

Could you please throw some light on this. Is this because I actually do not have the permission to upload images?

Thanks in advance.

I assume, this could be due to permission rights only. Though, from a phone it should be working.

Re: Photos upload problem

@rohits29 : welcome to the forum.

the error u getting is mostly encountered when the application or the website has logged u out.

be advised that the forums are readable even as a guest visitor, even if one has not logged in - and hence its rather confusing to determine whether one is logged-in or has been logged-out

besides the point, the android apps - viz. tappatalk & the xbhp app - both are pretty fried up in the way they retain ur login credentials over a certain period of time. [the tappatalk app for iOS works perfectly spot-on though]

here's what i suggest...
- login to the forum from a computer.
- while u login, ensure that the "remember me" radio-button under the login / password field is selected - if u dont select this, the forum will do a 'session time-out' after 120+ seconds of idle time - not long enough a time i say.
when u select the 'remember me' option - the forum drops a 'cookie' on ur computer that forces the computer & the forum to keep identifying each other till such time that u click on the 'logout' button. [sorry for being a bit techie - have tried to be as layman'ish as i cud ]
- use only the computer to upload the fotos etc.
- ensure that ur fotos dont go beyond 3Mb per-file [pls understand that the heavier in size the image, the longer it takes for u to upload it & even longer it takes for us, the readers to load & view & comment on the post - even a 3Mb file size is rather too big-ass large - use several foto editing tools to 'compress' ur images - ideal size is sub-250~500kb per image for it to be of the right quality & to have optimal load times]
- just fyi, the foto upload feature of the forum is pretty shoddy & is amongst one of those items that is awaiting a fix / enhancement from the 'iffort' folks who manage the vbulletin software of this forum.

hope this helps.

oh & btw, shashank sathe @ siddhachal phase-2, vasant vihar thane here... hope to bump-in to u someday

whymail thanx buddy. Still stuck in office, will try the option of uploading pics from home, as the office pc wont allow me to do so. N the season for rides is here.

Use Tapatalk. A free version is available. Xbhp Connect has never let me upload pics either, but Tapatalk does.
