  • Behold the new AUTOBOT in town

-- Post editted with Full info.

Before I start, lemme clearly explain where all I think I can improve,

    - I know the entire front part behind the front wheel is open which kind of looks messy, But it is very important to maintain the airflow inside and hence im working on a cover with a better design to let in more airflow to the engine.

I used to own a P180. Things started changing after my ride to Ladkah ( http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/best-tra...back-ride.html ). Though P180 gave me no reason to complain, but the Highways in India just got better J

http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/desi-bik...mean-p180.html) convinced me to keep everything original. Thus began the greatest search for those few nuts, bolts and screws across cities Jhttp://www.xbhp.com/talkies/members/pro-v-rodz.html

And one fine day my search for all the parts ended. Thus started the process of mounting things on my bike. Xionite (http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/members/xionite.html
SO I found a electric welder( generally welds the gates) near my house. He had no idea about bikes. All he did was to weld things exactly where I asked him to do.

It took me 3 days to weld and mount the whole thing up. All these 3 days I was sitting and working in that welding shop without a shirt, just like a welder. People even started asking me to weld their stuff J. The welding alone will not take 3 days, but to carefully weld every bracket by fixing and removing the fairings to check its fit, was time consuming. But eventually we completed the weld and my Ride was ready.

    Now the AUDIT,

Guys, I'm working on a name for my new two wheeled Autobot. Do pitch in with your suggestions.

Thanks to Xionite, ProVrodz and to this dude who created this link - http://yamahapricelist.blogspot.com/...r-browser.html - This link was my bible, gita and Koran for everything single detail of the bike.

EDIT: More pics of the Xenon lamps as requested.

More pics of the lights in Day light coming soon.

Why did you block air entering from the cylinder through the fairings? Your Pulsar is an air cooled engine & needs more open space. Don't restrict the airflow & increase engine heat with fairings.

I agree air is important for the cooling systems. But trust me, there's abs no blockage of air to the engine. The fairing scoops enough air into the center of the bike.

                          hey ananz... congratulations.
glad you finally completed the mod. looks really nice in black.

waiting to see it once you've added on the finishing touches.

you can actually get rid of that gap by getting rid of the shroud around the pulsar speedo.
you don't need it really... i've used mine for over a year now.

it's been thru a through bombay monsoon too...
so if it's "water seeping into ur speedo console" ur worried about...
not to worry... u won't have any issues.

once u remove the shroud... u'll need to open the speedo console (carefully)
and drill a four holes in the back of the console plastic to allow u to mount the console
onto the R15 stay (that is the metal piece the welder is holding in the 5th pic)... that way... the gap disappears.

P.S: i've been planning on repainting my bike... one of my options was an
airbrush paintjob that would coincide with the Transformers 3 movie release.

i've had this mod on my bike for just over a year now... not had ANY heating issues.

Suggestion : get rid of the rear mud guard and install the p135 one instead the rear will look sporty and will get a good view of the tyre. Also get rid of the saaree guard.

@xionite : why are Mumbaikers worried about water seeping into their speedos. ive seen people riding their bikes with those plastic covers on the console, no one in Pune does it and our speedos work just fine. Looks like a gimmick by sellers of these plastic covers hehe.
