As said by most of the people here.
The best thing about riding solo is that one does not have to worry or think about the group goals.
One can stick to or break the travel plan as and when he wants. Take as many photography/loo/tummy breaks as heart or nature desires.
we can change the route at last moment or discover new ones.

And Apart from all above, we get pleanty of time just for ourselves and our machines. Which can't be compared to anything in this world.
On long rides, we can actually feel that the bike is immitating our actions in a way where it seems to be one action.

Hence, one in a while, Solo trips are very important to let yourseld loose from all the hustles and bustles of the day to day crowd and fast paced life.

      Solo Rides

Solo Rides give lot of confidence in you just try a solo ride in the week end the whole week you will feel that you are riding the charriots of heaven.
Once I did a trip to Malshej from mumbai... This was my first trip.
It was really awsome. After that I did a couple of group rides.
The only problem with group rides is you waste a lot of time..
you never get sinked with others.
      A next door biker..

        2. Take as many breaks as you want(photo/butt/smoke).
        3. Need not worry about others fellow riders.
        4. Can vary riding speeds at your will.
        5. The feeling of being one with your machine.

        Issues :

        1. Incase of breakdowns/mishaps. But if you get a proper service with oil change and cluth wire changes before the rides breakdowns can be easily avoided. Mishaps, one cant help...Its tottaly upto you and your luck

Not that I have not done group rides and all but I kinda find solos more relaxed. I ride for peace of mind and solos suit me more than anything else...purely personal opinion
Nice thoughts there and thanks for listing them
        Take Care and Keep Riding,
        Cheers

@Ridermax - I have done majorly on solo trips....had fun doing these trips. I can stop where I decide and keep moving continously, the last ride I did was to Kanyakumari (Planned) but reached till Nagapattinam and it was pouring like hell and had my gears protecting...but still couldnt ride beyond that. (120Kms in complete rain) returned the same day with 650kms on the odo.... started by 5.15 from Chennai and my first stop was after Cuddalore (Just after Pondicherry it started pouring), had my breakfast by 9 and my next break was at Poombuhar (One of the oldest Trade Place for Pearls) and then set to Karaikal and took a break there. this is where my bike started giving problems, water got into the spark plug. Bike switched off and no place to stop except for a tree, parked da bike and walked to a shed which was around 50mts from the bike. almost 2 hrs had to just watch the rain. I was standing in dry with all my gears taking all the water on it, rain never looked like reducing, went on and cleaned the plug covered with plastic sheet, again started off to reach Nagapattinam. Just before 2kms from Nagapattinam, rain never looked like stopping. Thought I will prefer to turn back instead of staying at Nagapattinam. Reached back by around 9pm. dint do anything except for riding. People around looked at me as an alien whereever i went and stopped. One family who came from Karnataka in a Scorpio asked me if am mad to do these kind of things. I only smiled at him and let him go.

Love to ride solo....you decide on what u want to do.
              Hi Ramesh,
Can understand your passion for riding that embarks you on these rides.
Wanted to hear from our rider friends what each felt about solo rides, hence the GBD. So many feed-backs and so much passion! Wonderful!
Real sorry your ride was a wet one. Was looking forward to some pics.
You are so right, most people look at us strangely when we stop on the way. It happens all the time. How would they understand our passion (?),the very joy of riding. Like you said, best to smile and say Bye

              Take Care,
              Cheers

well, my touring started with group-riding and in a bunch of 3-4 bikes...slowly, the passion gave away to the work pressure, for my other buddies...so, I started going out solo...that's when I realized, the fun is in "whenever & wherever spirit of the rides"...now that my groupies are all moved out of the city, so I'm more motivated towards those week-end long touring, long trips & treks, as solo rider. The love for my ride has increased manifold, since i started feeling the tune of the motorcycle in me...so, ride safe, ride loooong

Motorsport is fun. Safety is a mandate. Be in shape & ride long

like everyone stated in the above posts...its you, your ride and your time...

1)i dont have to worry about the other guys (its selfish i know, but i do believe i am entitled to some selfishness sometimes )

2)i can stop whenever and where ever i want and for whatever reason.i can change my routes and schedules according to my will

3)i can listen to my music, feel the breeze, the adrenaline,my machine and the combined feeling of you and your ride swaying along the curves.

4)can concentrate better..be responsible solely for anything

the only backdraw is theres no one to take pics of myself
