Firstly I am confessing that I was an Idiot and very immature to drive at such a high speed especially while going to college from mulund to dombivli. I normally take my bike to college once a month and on the 1st april I left for college at about 10.20 a.M I had an uneasy feeling since morning but did not bother.I wore my knee and elbow guards thick jacket and of course most importantly My vega boolean helmet which I had purchased after a lot of argument with my parents that I needed a good helmet. About 20 minutes into the ride I crossed the KDMC pipeline road and then hit the kalyan shil road. Now that road is almost empty at about 11.00 A.M except for some locals who go from one village to another. I crouched on the tank and gunned the throttle my bike rapidly reached 100kph and I was still accelerating I saw another bike at a distance on the left side of the left lane (I was on the right lane) I honked so that he could know that someone was approaching on the other lane . Then when I was about 15 feet away from him the bummer he had no RVm's swerved sharply into my lane without any signal or even looking back. I just remember the screech of my tires on applying the brakes then a bang.I woke up in the hospital and called my friend who lives in Dombivli he cut the phone since he thought it was a prank then I asked the doctor to call him he came to the hospital Then he showed me my helmet I was shocked that I had been through such a major crash. I feel really lucky to have been wearing a good helmet and knee&elbow guards and a jacket.I escaped with only bruises and a sore body. I urge all bikers to wear a good helmet and atleast basic riding gear so that (god forbid) if something like this happens they do not hurt themselves badly. Damn I should have listened to my friend and purchased those Riding gloves.

May you get well soon, you were very lucky. Looking at the state of the helmet, god only knows what would have happened had you not had one on your head, or the quality was not as good, or if it was not secured properly.
GOD BLESS!!!GuRpReEt SiNgH

That could have been a nasty crash buddy..!! Good nothing sever happened & you escaped the MAJOR injuries..!! Gloves might have made you scratchless .. Be careful & wishing you a speedy recovery..
p.s. IMO, had the lid not been a flip-up types, it wouldnt have broken. A proper full helmet is always better. Take care mate..!!!

Glad to hear you are pretty ok bro. Take enough rest. Invest in a good gloves too.
and I'm also with bprags regarding the bike: since it has sustained so much damage, there will definitely be unnoticeable and irreparable damage to the chassis. The bike will never be the same again
. I've had the same experience from my college days on my dads 4SChampion (bajaj, model before Caliber).
I also understand its not always practical to get a new one right away, but atleast refrain from pushing it like this again.
btw, what happened to that moron? Did he just walk away like it happened in my case?

My god! thats that must have been very bad crash. Good to know that you are safe buddy.
The same scenario happened to me last year. I was over 110 and accelerating and Some idiot chick steered to right lane quickly without giving any indication. I braked hard and tried to escape head on collision. But my bad luck my foot peg got in contact with his scooty and the next moment I was airborne. Touched the land few meters away with my head BANG on the ground then got dragged on road for another few meters. I was shaking like hell. got up somehow and looked for my bike. bike was another 7-8 meters further from me. picked my bike up. plastics were cracked at many places, RVM's were gone, leg guards were bent and handlebars was bent in on both sides.
parked it on the side quickly. turned back and saw the girl she was sitting on side of the road. Walked to her and asked 'What the f*** was that? do you even know to drive?
' and she just started crying. I was like WTF?? She was not even injured.
People gathred around and and good thing is they were not blaming me. Girl was okay she could walk And I was asking here if she need a doctor. She was still crying. then a guy suggested me 'leave this girl. she is okay and she is gonna create scene so that people dont blame her and police is gonna blame you ofcourse for driving rash. and look at you. you are injured badly.' he was right. I cranked my bike and it started. clutch and brakes were okay too so I left that place. Got to hospital and called my nearby friend. Took the torn clothes off and saw I was injured severely. Skin was torn like anything on shoulders, elbows, back and even on palms. It just happened so quickly I had no idea about myself.
My bad luck! that day I was riding without gloves and elbow guards. My injuries could've been less. From that day I wear them every day whatever the weather condition. but the most important thing that is a must even for few hundred meters ride... the helmet . It truly saves life.
And after you have such crash you take time to recover. Not physically but mentally. You fear from anything on the road. You brake every now and then. you fear to go over 70-80 kmph. It took me a few months to get my confidence back. But It is not like before anymore. You are hell of lot more cautions. Your eyes are looking for danger every moment. But that is a good thing. It made me a better rider. better and safer.
Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.
