General SBK Discussion Thread

I am planning to upgrade to a pre-owned 600 cc machine in the future. Already started saving up for the babe, but one thing's nagging me a lot: will I be able to get a decent mechanic in the city? The city is small, but does have a couple of Busa's and a Harley, though I haven't seen them yet. Does maintaining an SBK is a big deal that a regular expert can't handle, given there are no major glitches?

A preowned 600cc without a mechanic around in your town ??

Its a Risk... May not be a risk.

If you are buying it from a person who maintained the history of the bike as clean as possible... and you know him in personal, go get it, forget about mechanics... Small works like replacing oil filter and oil, along with airfilters... can be done by you.

And if you buying it from totally mars... Be careful. In your particular case..dont case any risk buying it from an total unknown fellow.

i vote for FZ1 - N, the naked one...

btw... is it at the same price of 10.5 k ?? or will it be lowered atleast by a lakh or two ??

Its the R1 engined naked bike that the FZ16 is supposed to have been inspired by...

Let it have r1 engine or r6 engine... AFAIK... FZ is called as Fazer...

I've no idea about pricing man.. But my guess is somewhere around the 8-9L ex-showroom mark.

Hehe, can't say man. Will have to depend on the price and the economic scenario as well Would love to have the FZ1 but the MT is unchallenged in my list till date

If I ever decided to change my MT I may have considered the FZ1 a few months ago but now with the CB1000R jumping in the ring I'd go for that for the looks alone.

The FZ1 is great, used to be the most brutal of the litre streetfighters but it is too plain jane when compared to its contemporaries.

I'm not changing my MT anytime soon though :-) I've ordered the single seat kit, Akra Stage I mufflers, carbon slash cut heat shields, undertray, etc. Spent a bomb on it.
