No way man.. He was belting the MT01 out and out. Fact is the MMSC rewards flickability and in-corner speeds more than outright power. Not much to do with the suspension on the track for the MTOriginally posted by Streetfighter View PostHell no, that cannot be
May be he was a rubbish rider? The MT-01 suspension is very badly set up from the factory, too soft. I hated the initial ride. I have just upped the preload and want to adjust the damping pretty soon. Apparently it makes a huge difference, especially on the track.
It's quite a distance from here. A couple of friends truck their bikes to and fro quite often. I'm gonna join up with them, with my MT or something new in the new year.
Do you know Bharat there in Banglaore? He's quite a track freak too, and a great guy to hang out with.
SF
Sounds like a plan man. Let's take it to PM from here.
PS: I don't know Bharat. He may be known to Killer or poncho.. they're more regular than me at the tracks and the track junkies aren't a very big lot

Can anyone explain why it is different? is it because of a new exhaust system or the 'crossplane crank' with 270, 180,90,180 deg firing order? My only mantra - Om Speed OM

I would say then that Yamaha is again rocking the ultimate performance segments.
This R1 seems to have the talent of rivalling the roadgoing Ducati Desmasedici V5.This being based on the motogp M1.At 15lacs it wud rival a vehicle of 30 lacs..............if it does so Honda Fireblade wud again shift off from leading the SBK pack.Hell's Angel

Exactly, as they clearly say that inertial torque is now in rider favour, I think CBR may shift to second in overall performance .. but, in other matters like tyres, handling, etc. I still think CBR will put up a fight ...Originally posted by MACH50 View PostI would say then that Yamaha is again rocking the ultimate performance segments.

Sorry if my knowledge is low ... but I think I saw that Ducati Desmodici is V4, not V5 ... Has it been updated in the mean time?
The only "On-Road V5" I have heard about is that VFR Rumour of going V5, which didn't happen?!---

Apart from the cost ..I doubt the 2009 R1 being more advanced than the 2009 new Ducati 1198. Traction control, less weight (171kg), more power, dry clutch, etc...all these features on the bike are directly carried from thier racing paddock. And not to doubt the desmodromic valve system which is successfull than any other valve system yet on high performance motorcycles.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostI would say then that Yamaha is again rocking the ultimate performance segments.

but as far as looks and personal choice is concerned..i still stick to being a Yamaha guy
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

If anything, the new RSV will kill the competition, not so much the new R1 or the Gixxer. Owing to its weight alone.
Aside from something very strange like pasta sauce in the ECU of the RSV, this will happen.
Let's wait and watch. Couple of months down we'll have a clearer picture."Tough times never last, but tough people do." - Robert Schuller

Buddy of mine sent me the dyno chart for the new R1. Doesn't look so good. Torque curves are all over the place. Thought I'd share this with you guys.
Peak rear wheel h.p on the stock seems around 170.

very strange . if anything i would have expected a smooth curve with the fancy new technology . as far as the jap bikes v/s duc. cant compare the 2 . with the duc you are getting an extremly powerful twin that is very rideable around town, a great chasis and nice suspension . but if you spent a bit on say the 08 blade. in terms of getting ohlins suspension it would most likely crap all over the duc around the track . but then again the duc is most likely the hottest bike around at the moment/.

I am talking about that Ducati Desmosedici that Ducati made in limited numbers. It was a rip off their 1000cc motogp bike-single seater, multipoint micro fuel-injected,200+hp.It was the only roadgoing motogp bike.Since all it had a motogp engine I thought it also a V5.This bike was inaugurated by Loris Capirossi in his last season at Ducati......................I wonder how everyone forgot it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Originally posted by Samarth 619 View PostExactly, as they clearly say that inertial torque is now in rider favour, I think CBR may shift to second in overall performance .. but, in other matters like tyres, handling, etc. I still think CBR will put up a fight ...
