Re: Yamaha RX 100 (History)
I had a 1992 model Yamaha Rx100 during my college days but frequently had accidents due to its high torque and frequent wheelie as sometimes I would carelessly release the clutch faster absentmindedly since I was also riding my fathers Bajaj Cub scooter. It got stolen one fine day but I missed it like hell. I later bought a Suzuki samurai but felt something was missing as I was used to the high torque of RX100. Then bought a TVS Victor but still felt it was a dull bike. I later chanced upon an old Rx100 and it needed some maintenance like clutch job, chain wear, paint job etc. I liked it I don't know why and exchanged it for the victor. I changed nearly everything to suit my taste. I wanted original. I bought new petrol tank, new front and rear mudguards, new chain cover, engine rebored, new original handle bar as the guy had a cut fury handle bar which I didn't like. New headlamp, new indicators, new speedometer, new mirrors, new horn , new side covers and new rear lamp. Also new front and rear tyres. Finally got the satisfaction. My bike was earlier giving a mileage of 47 kmpl now after reboring gives me 45 kmpl. It's got 12v electrical now. I got a splendor saree guard as it was more sporty and sleek.
