    Why it is necessary to purchase helmet every time you purchased new two wheeler

    Hi to all XBHPIAN,

    I am very angry with this stupid policy

    Yesterday I went to HERO SHOWROOM for the purchase of new CBZ EXTREME.. but delay the process as I am not happy with their price details

    Just few month back I purchased Pleasure Scooty for my father even then I was forced to pay amount of Rs 675/- for helmet.

    Even today they are forcing me to purchase new helmet with the bike.. if we reject this.. then they will not sell the bike to me.

    IS IT THE FAIR PRACTICE.??????

    Please advice.

    I am from Delhi and this incident is from Singla automobile, Mahavir Enclave, New Delhi.

    Dude,
    They (Singla Automobiles) are legally bound to do so. Its due to a Court judgment in 2010, whereby every 2 wheeler has to be sold with a helmet.
    I suggest that you buy the helmet and then sell it back to anyone else... including the showroom guys/ employees themselves, if possible.


    @ Others: Guys, after all, the honorable court is above all of us. Let's honor the judgment and not speak against it in this topic.

        AFAIK there is no such rule for entire nation which says a helmet must be sold along with a bike.

        don't know about delhi.

        if anybody has any concrete info, plz share here.

        last time i checked a few weeks ago for P200NS here in pune, helmet price was added in quotation but the sales guy said helmet is optional.

          LOL if these kinda things are law then I will be happy to break it.

          I dont know who makes these dumb laws!I think they hallucinate after getting their share of money from the criminal cases

            AFAIK, Helmet is a compulsory buy with every bike. The dealers have found out a way to wiggle out of this . . . . they ask you to sign on a printed declaration saying that already own a helmet.

              IT's ok.. but i crossed checked with hero moto corp complaint.. even they said sir if you have the receipt of new helmet.. you are liable to get bike without helmet charges just show them the receipt... also yaar the price they are charges for that helmet is too much.... ... if purchase of helmet is necessary.. I can get the same from outside for my own choice.. not by their damn choice.. I lost my cbz extreme bec of their stupid attitude.

              Yes very correct, if purchase of helmet is necessary.. I can show them receipt of my own choice of helmet not from their choice..

                    You dont need to buy a helmet if you take a helmet along with bill when going to take delivery of the bike.

                        See this is what I want to say..We respect Supreme court orders, but no one force us to purchase helmet of Rs 675/-, if we can get ISI brand helmet of around Rs. 200/- , to fulfill the formalities of the court.....

                        As we already got better helmet with themselves???

                              day before yesterday i told him that, just to check Helmet quality i dropped it on ground just from 5 ft & its Visor broke & a bend on back of helmet (A BIG LOL)


                              And to that he said (Dealer)

                              "Sir I am using this type of Helmet from Last 6 month"

                              Then my reaction was why the hell Vega, LS2 got ISI mark then ?
