Another unforgettable experience between Surat - Manor sometimes during Sep 2011

It was drizzling in the evening around 5:30ish & I was determined to reach Mumbai as I was riding since morning 4:30 AM from Jaipur that day. However, those things were least concerned as I was in full concentration on the road & was riding at right most lane (fast lane)

I notice this Auto in the opposite direction taking U turn & getting into the lane I was riding from a considerable & safe distance; so I switch to middle lane; now this guy puts out his head, see I'm in middle lane & then gets into middle lane!!! Ok, no issues, I switch back to right most lane once again.

Don't know what spurred in that joker's head, as I came close by he started switching to right most lane; this time I was not safe anymore & I managed to slow down, study the situation, cut the gear & sped off there by sneaking through the right most side between the auto & median narrowly missing them both. As I kept moving forward, I noticed that guy switching to left most lane through my RVM (probably trying to prey upon someone tomorrow as I'd missed his quote for the day )

Sends me shivers even as I write this!!!

Again, i have never driven a bus[!] but have overheard many conversations about the drivers and their experiences.

The very moment that comes to my mind is this!
This happened when I was in 8th standard riding a cycle.Actually I was practicing to ride a cycle. A Eicher van came in the opposite direction. There was a mechanic shop there. So two wheelers were parked on both side of the roads. I didn't stop and tried to go through a little gap. But halfway through I hit a motorcycle handle and went down. The driver stopped immediately. I came to a halt and saw that my leg was under the rear tire of the van touching it. If the driver haven`t stopped, I would have lost my leg that day.

Day before yesterday evening i.e. Saturday 22.09.2012, if anyone had been there on Gemini Fly Over (Chennai), could have witnessed 2 victims assaulted by a moron two wheeler. Unfortunately I am one of the victims. I don’t know why I am inviting accidents, touch and go type to me quiet often these days. At around 5.50 pm I was leaving home from office and caught in traffic over the flyover because of those 3 riot vans stalled there for more than 5 days. Oncoming traffic is separated by median which is not continuous type but red color cone type so a 2 wheeler can easily pass through. On both sides of the road all vehicles are moving slowly. I don’t know how this guy managed to come so fast; he just cut through the median and hit a 2 wheeler with pillion in front of me. Seeing that I moved to my left to avoid him, but in a flash he came to me hit my right arm and disappeared. I stopped to see whether he was hit by a car or at least caught by police but luckily he escaped. People screamed and abused at him. Actually while coming on to opposite side he lost balance was leaning to his right to regain the balance. My right arm got bruised and shoulder is still paining. I was happy at the end he did not hit my bike.

Than why don't they leave the job and do something else what they like, rather tham ramping and taking lives on road in name of accidents!!

Bro thi is not at all an excuse in any sense!! if it's hot and noise with smelly deisel than does that means he is liable to ramp bikes or pedestrains??

This thinking needs to be changed!!

Even you would be supporting Kasab's act, right !! Because he comes from a poverty level segment, no earning in family!! Terrorist group offered him a good amount with good home care of his family!! And he happily shot many innocent people here!! Does his act of killing justifies his helplessness??

Police people take bribe and they have only excuse, low monthly salary and more than 10hrs shift without leaves!! where as they have so many quotas in many sections.

If any person think what he is getting from his current job then he should switch to something better or leave that job only!! But hurting people or bribing is just not right!!

Tomorrow if during war one soldiers betrays his own troop then will that justify the deaths in country ???

Not done. Though unfortunate, but always remember the bike is just for your comfort and safety. Dont start loving your bike/vehicle so much so that you put your safety at risk in place of the vehicle. No matter how much you love it and care for it.. It remains 'it'. Two examples: a. I was riding my splendor parallel to an indica. There was a 'small' pothole in front of the indica. There was cut to cut traffic, no space fir him and for me. The son of a witch turned left and hit me- just to avoid its suspension to get the jerk!! Man give me a break - you love your vehicle so much that you are risking other commuters life? A hot argument ensued.. But thankfully i was hit not bruised. I let him go. 2. My sis in law walkinh along a pavement in Delhi haat when a rider hit her.. She took two rolls on the ground, the biker ran off. She cant bear the pain in her spine in winters.. No surgery can cure her.. The crux is human suffering is sometimes a lifelong suffering. Never take what your bike can take. If its looking too practical to you(you appear very emotional to me) take it this way. You and the bike are two good firends. The bike also want to protect you as much as you do.. Give it the opportunity. A soldiers best friend is its armour/guard. He doesn't protect it. It protects him! He always ensures it is kept in the best condition, taken care of regularly.. Timely serviced. And that is it.

but i think you should be thinking on yourself!! Why don't you think that your hand and shoulder is paining, else he would have shot your bike and you would have been safe that would be more better!!

I would like to say if oneself is fine than that is better. Bike come and go. We can take well care but i don't think we should have a feeling of dying for bike in return!!

So any medication for your health??

What I meant here is I got away with minor bruise and pain which when some coconut oil or iodex applied on will go off. But what if he hit my bike as such?. My cowling, fairing, fork all would have taken the toll ! making me more frustrated and regret. That would have really screwed up the day. If it had been otherwise that I got the worst hit, I wouldn’t have said that.

I never said it was legit for the bus drivers to do reckless driving.I only questioned about abusing them. And oh, by the way, I also wish Kasab should be hanged..

Not to dispute...but your earlier trip to Pondi was your luckiest day; you need to Thank your stars; after that trip, now you're getting a new experience on this one. Hence said, time for education.

this is very common here...............happens almost everyday. autos are very dangerous vehicles, do not underestimate their capacity...to inflict damage and run away by disappearing and merging with traffic.

Well said; very well said; and somehow we can't do that to them; all of a sudden there will be 1000's of auto drivers appearing out of nowhere if there's anything that happens to their 4-1 wheeler!!!

All these drivers (or any irresponsible idiots in the job) have the following in common...
                              - When they join, they look pity; have old Parents in a far off village & he's here in the big city to make a living
                              - As days weeks pass by they suddenly have elder Sister who isn't married, younger brother who's hardly studying, grandparents at death bed
                              - As months pass by one of the grandparent dies & they need salary advance to visit them
                              - As a year pass by the work place becomes hell where they've to labor for 12 hours (as if they aren't compensated), no food given (as if food was given earlier), have to keep driving all the time (as if they weren't told this before)
                              - As tw...as if they stay anywhere beyond 1 year

We only see the pity the situation of lorry drivers, anyone want to hear the story of lorry owners?

You are more imp than any bike or car you purchase may it is more than 15L also. This all small minor hurts show their existence later in older age!!
                                What Krishna ???

Whether your bikes gets a minor scratch or it gets into debries, it's a bike only, a product non living thing. Which can be repaired and sold later yrs. But if anything happens to you then where will you repair yourself and sell yourself??

But anyways it's all about feeling and understanding!! If you feel more for your bike then yourself in any contrast then no use telling you!!
