  • The Bike Rental Thread

Most of us ride our bikes to wherever we want, without thinking of the distances involved. But at times we might visit a city or a state where we might have a chance to ride, even though it is not a full blown biking trip.

It is for those times when we might want to rent out a bike for a couple of days to do some local sightseeing, that we need to rent a bike.

So if you have any information for places, people who rent out bikes in your city, then please such information here, for the benefit of all the members across the country.

Have made a google form with all the information fields that would be useful for others, so please fill in the form and the consolidated list will be published here -

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

    Re: The Bike Rental Thread

Man, Why are we relying on other agencies for rental???

Can't We (Xbhpians) help out each other in respective cities??? I mean,
we have to make a link on our forum/site, where a person can raise a request for bike & some Xbhpian can provide his on basis of brotherhood & monetary guidelines shall be given according to depriciation per KM, based on category of bikes.

Case 1: Xbhpian 1 from say lucknow travels to banglore raises request for touring bike(for 2 days) a day before journey & Xbhpian 2 (resident of banglore) accepts to provide his Ninja/CBR 250.

Benifit -1: Promoting brotherhood & self reliance,
2: Monetary benifit for lending person & borrowing person (reasonable price)
3: Safe to rent out bike for fellow Xbhpian(respects bike & keeps it safe & holds responsible for any mistake) & borrower know the bike's condition better.
4: Availability of basic riding gear for borrower.

Just an Idea, has lot of issues though, Hope we can deabte over alittle & implement if possible & if riders like this.

      Good Effort,
This could really be useful when i gotta go to a foreign city..
I mean asking people you know for a vehicle just seems wrong imo.

Thanks for this, hope we can create a good Data Base using this.

This setup you mentioned would work out in a perfect world
Though this can be an option if someone is willing to lend his or her own bike to another person and take on the various risks associated. But otherwise a rental agency kinda setup is better.

          Re: The Bike Rental Thread

I was born and brought up in Pune and the irony is I have no clue if anyone provide bikes on rental. I can name a thousand shops in Goa who are into such business but have no idea about Pune.

There no need to mention any shop from Goa as these are omnipresent.

          In goa,
          active/dio/pleasure available @ 200-350
          pulsar available @ 250-400
          Avenger available @ 350-450
Maruti suzuki cagers available from 800.

All rates are per day basis. Rates vary grately according to the seasons. No deposit is needed. You need to provide a copy of license. For foreigners, a copy of passport is also needed.
This is legal business in Goa but some people put their family vehicles in the market too. These family vehicles can be identified as they don't yellow number plates. You can haggle a lot for these white plate vehicles.

Drink and don't ride/drive. If you damage their vehicles goan people will appear a bit less friendly.

@Foreigners: No offence, you think you can ride but you can't. Don't be a hero, get a car.

I would never give my vehicle to anyone, I did that and paid and still paying heavily for that about a year ago.
I heard you can find bikes for rent in Nagaon and in Guwahati near the KTM dealership.
            I am back!

In Bangalore, DVK Biking in Thippasandra/Indiranagar was the guy. He had reasonable rates once upon a time (In early 2013, I rented a P200NS at 500 per day, flat-rate. Now he charges 1000 per day for the 1st 4 days, and that doesn't include weekend rates).

                      More details: dvkbiking.com

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!
