@Vasanth - I have not seen it on the race tracks, seen it outside. Anyways, its gonna be an exciting launch for TVS. Like I said, the pricing is gonna give headaches to the competitiors.

GRRRR You could have given me a hint saaaar.... I blew up my savings on the R15....
I think I can grab one if I get a (good) bonus.... and if the R15\RTR goes, which one do i let go....

Black R15 - Date of purchase 14 Feb 2009..... Going for best offer price... PM Me for details!

I think I picked up a hint in that.... infact "two".... I had heard a similar thing too... however I was told that the manufacturer was unknown... and was assumed to be ZUK! ... I guess now I know why...

You dont want to even wait for the specs to come out? You just got it..

I hope this long wait doesnt blow up expectations so high that TVS cant meet them

Well, I'll call you dumb if you really sold your R15 for the RTR180..
The RTR180 is indeed faster (one of already owns a RTR180 set-up) than the R15 by a bit, but trust me the trump-card of the R15 is its lazer sharp handling which is un-matched by anything else.
If you are a racing head, you will realise that more than raw power the overall package matters more.
I'd love the RTR engine in an R15 frame, now thats called a killer package.
Another killer package will be a 4-valve head on the RTR engine with the R15 frame.

The RTR160 itself can be tuned to similar levels as the 180.

Planning this ?? Try a 4-valve head on the RTR engine and fix that on the R15 frame.....

P.S: I know that's close to impossible, but just a harmless jibe!!!!

I am sure Manan, you must be getting lots of non xBhp participation calls/ e-mails, etc. We are grateful to you that you have blocked a few seats for us here. If I had an Apache RTR, I would've surely gone down south.

Guys, this is ARE - Apache Racing Event, this if official. Not only will you get to ride on the tracks, but you guys would also be able to gain immense amount of knowledge on everything racing! I seriously feel RTR guys should participate. 7th March is a Saturday, so, I don't feel getting leaves from work is going to be a problem as it is a weekend anyways.

Moreover, not only knowledge and track riding, the participants will also get goodies to take home (if that's what you were waiting to hear!). Goodies like Reebok t-shirts, etc. are on offer for the participants. And Manan has specially blocked a few seats for the RTR riders on xBhp.

So, please give him your confirmations, go ahead ride on the tracks, gain knowledge and show us your skills!
OYYYY why did have to be march 7th..i have an exam that day!!! arggghhh...booo . If the performance kits do come out...imma be one of the first ones in line to get it installed . my RTR Refresh already zooms pretty good...who knows how much faster it will get with this

And the upcoming 180cc can be tuned to levels of errr...i don't want to start a war out here!!

Well i am wondering what TVS have in mind for the 180cc coz they have taken their own sweet time to launch the bike.If it would have been a straight bore/stroke increase job the bike would have hit the roads much sooner, IMO!!

In the words of Frank Barone - " Holy Crap ! " There go my plans of picking up an R15 with my eyes closed in April.

Come on TVS, at least do a Suzuki on us and show us the Menace with its specs. I am sure we wont mind waiting for it to hit the showrooms

Not really. Higher CC does not mean it will outperform everything in the modified form. It all depends on the configuration. But looking at the 160 and the 175, the RTR160 is what I'll pick for mods. There is a reason why I'm saying this, dont wanna discuss here though.

TVS is not only doing the bore/stroke puzzle but also working on fuelling and CDI upgrade to suit the new character.
Well, every product has to go through intensive testing before being launched and TVS has its own cycle of testing which they religiously follow although it looks like a simple idea.

Finally some concrete evidence of the beast coming to the streets, will keep an eye open here in this thread for updates as they happen
I'm too intelligent to the unintended, and too dumb for the obvious.

@Joel: Does it mean we will have another Group D class, 165+cc. I think right now its only Group B(?) in which only moded ZMA's taking part.
