Re: How many kms for your daily commute?

I live in Ghaziabad & the xBhp office is in Mehrauli (recently shifted), which makes it around 94 kms daily commute both ways, covering 2 states, most of it in the city and in peak traffic hours.

I don't mind riding that long everyday, but the worst part is that by the time you reach office, you have already lost 50%-60% of your mental and physical energy to do something creative! More than the physical, it is the mental torture.

The launch of AS200 and AS150 wasn't a hush affair; For these bikes, Bajaj did something that they've never done before (at least none to my knowledge). They launched the bike in Delhi in a grand event and then called the journos from all the small and big media portals to test ride the bike in Lavasa, Pune which was again a first for Bajaj as they usually offer the test ride at their track only.

xBhp did cover the launch and did review the bikes.
      here's the review http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/bike-rev...-reviewed.html

      and here's the ownership thread

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?

Hey Guys , This is such a wonderful discussion.

Well talking about my ride to office, I ride around 12 kms one way. That makes it 24 kms a day. I ride my recently bought Duke 390 to office and occational weekend rides and touring. I go to office at 6.30 am and come back by 4. So in Bangalore city its okay for 390 with respect to the time. The road will be empty in the morning and while coming back its not that bad either. However if i need to stay late in the office and got late by an hour or 2 , man its a real pain. It will be a chock-a-block traffic even in the Outer ring road. In these case i ll be riding in 1st or 2nd gear and the engine generates a lot of heat. Otherwise all good . And in highway its a blast.

And for my grocery shopping, gym and near by rides I use my 11 year old Pulsar 150, its first generation pulsar with the Visor on. She is still a gem of a machine and i am planning to put michelin on it and use this also for office commute, that way I can switch between both the bikes. At the moment they have ceat (rear) and MRF (front). She needs a good service as well.

        Regards
        Peeths.

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?

I commute a total of around 30kms to and fro office everyday. I use the Z800. I start around 945 from btm and reach yamlur via outer ring road to my work place at around 1030.

I use it for my weekends as well. Long and nice rides not exceeding 300 kms.

If I am doing my grocery on my way back from office I, obviously, use the Z. If I were to go out otherwise I use my R15.

To malls and cinemas I take my R15 as well. Except Forum, Koramangala where I prefer the Z as they have dedicated parking for Superbikes.
