My office in Greater Noida is exactly 50 kms from my place in Faridabad making it a 100 kms journey everyday. Though I mostly drive, I love taking out my 3 years and 21000 kms old GS150r on last working days of the week. It gives me all the thrills the safety and comfort of my caaaar doesn't. Just last week I touched 128 kmph on the expressway.

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?
I would say P220F is a legend and no matter how outdated it becomes , people would swear by it. Even 200NS could not topple its popularity charts and it still outsells almost all the models in the stable.Originally posted by Pulsar220F View PostHello Sid,
I also have a Pulsar 220F which I bought 6 months ago(exactly 201 days). I feel many of the same thoughts as you. Even I bought this bike recently and now I feel that I didn't research well enough, anyhow there is a fact that this was within reach in terms of money and also pillion seat is better positioned and has more space than other bikes. Even I can take my mother for very short rides on it.
Anyway my commute to work changed after buying the bike. I used to go in office cab but now only on my bike. It is 16-17kms far, so around 34 kms to and fro.
I can't believe that one person is doing 75kms one way to reach his office on his bike. 150kms in total!! And when you do this in Pulsar 220 it connects me. I get bum aches in long rides and also sometimes back pain stretching to ankles and everything. Nowadays I adjusted my sitting position and it doesn't show up.
The road must be better than here in Kerala or at least you might have a good stretch of highway. My ride is 90% in city and also very congested route. Only thing is that one part of my shift, either starting or ending of my office shifts will in early morning or after late evening, so less traffic those time.
Since I have bought this recently and can't do anything about it because of financial issue, I will be with my 220 for some time. This all rant doesn't mean I don't' like my bike, I love every bit of it.
Anyhow for an upgrade I might as well wait for Pulsar CS400, my wife says 220 is more than enough for me though.
Its is one of the best bikes and trust me it has been a dependable companion through lengthy roads. The road conditions I believe might be better in Delhi/NCR but you do have nuts and maniacs behind wheels which make it interesting. You have to keep a sane head and not outrace wannabes.
On my daily commute I come across numerous such individuals who overtake me on 100ccs weaving through traffic doing the famous nagin dance. The most prominent factor that stands out is the lack of rearview mirrors. I am still at awe how do they manage to ride without keeping an eye at the back. A couple of days back on the Greater Noida Expressway I saw a family of father, mother and child moving at a pace of 50kms in the second lane and ignorant of the vehicles zipping by at 100kmph. I had come up pretty fast behind them and had to honk to make way. But it took them a good 5 mins to move aside. The best part was all 3 of them were wearing helmets, but the bike was missing rear view mirrors. I stopped them and gave them a piece of advice and even took out my wallet to offer him cash to buy mirrors. I did it consciously to make him aware of the potential danger he is putting himself and his family into.Last edited by sunilg; 05-30-2015, 01:37 PM.

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?
Almost everyday I come across these nutheads riding Activas and other scooters at above 80kmph with their helmets dangling on their forearms. I feel sorry for the poor vehicles. They are not meant to handle such abuse. Sometimes I reach triple digits on the expressway and overtaking these guys takes some time.Originally posted by Pulsar220F View PostHahaha dio! One once occasion there was this boyfriend/girlfriend racing away to glory, with the girl sticking to the guy like Fevicol. I came up beside them and gave them the thumbs up sign and then sped away. I was at 90kmph when I slowed up with them. The poor chap still tried his best to catch up with my P220 to impress his girlfriend, but I guess she drove some sense into him and he slowed down !!

I feel you bro. Same here. Hinjewadi Pune traffic is similar to BLR traffic. The kind that can make a grown man cry and a monk swear!Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostRound trip of 54.x km daily.
Takes 1 hour in the morning and a little under 90 min on the way back.
Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding. The way you ride is the way you are..

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?
Could'nt agree better than that !!! In fact I do look forward to the morning ride everyday. However there are also cons to this:Originally posted by mehuel View Postthat is amazing i'd say,

1. I have developed joint pains since the riding stance of the P220 is sporty
2. I am dead tired by the time I reach home since the return journey is through office traffic on Gurgaon -Delhi Ring Road.
3. I sleep for 4 hours everyday instead of 8 since the commutation time has become longer.
4. The bike has started overheating inspite of using Motul 7100 which is fully synthetic. The chain needs to be lubed every alternate day and I assume that it has gone kaput. Am going to replace it today.
Was contemplating on selling the P220 and going for RE which is a more relaxed ride.
I had come across comments on this forum stating engine of Bajaj vehicles become rough after 2 to 3 years. My P220 has always been on Motul since the first couple of paid services, however it runs like a tractor now. I have maintained it immaculately from the start and still get the comment at the SVC " First Service ?? " but am disheartened to see the condition of the bike after some bashing.

Re: How many kms for your daily commute?
I need to travel 35+35. 3 Km in City Traffic, 17 on 4 lane NH, 14 on Single Lane SH. The last part is a joy to ride in Monsoon, Filled with Lush Green Hillocks. In Winter & Summer, It's as barren as it can get, Dusty Brown Rocks.
The commute is the part that I enjoy most about the job!
