  • Which fuel additive to use for 4stroke bike

    Hi friends !
I am thinking of using a petrol additive for my Unicorn Dazzler. Although the bike is normally working fabulous, sometimes contaminated petrol from pumps leads to occasional hiccups. Please help me out by sharing your experiences on different petrol additives.
    Thanks in advance !!

    Query Approved

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    THE END

Got this from the motul dealer, costs 5₹, although instruction is to use full packet with 2 and half litre petrol, the dealer told me to use with 5 litre of petrol.
Ahh, bike is new and problem free, used it for like 200kms, didn't find any major groundbreaking notice, may be it's working, maybe not. Who cares it costs only 5₹ and I add every time I get 500₹ fuel.

Does they have a bigger bottle than this pouch ? I plan to buy one & keep it home (not sure all fuel stations have this or not !)

Don't know buddy, best will be to buy a pouch packet roll and keep it under rear seat, dikki, whatever place in.your bike, that way when you'll visit petrol pump, you can remember to add pouch On The Go..!!

Please note, don't try to open the pouch with mouth, it tastes terrible and you'll vomit entire day.
(Happened with me, thank God didn't swallowed it, but was enough to ruin the day)

You don't really need any additives especially in Indian scenario. Just change the bunks if you feel anything wrong about the petrol quality or quantity. Check your carb sink/well to see if there are any sediments. Cleaning your carb regularly should do the job. Or if you are well versed with some hardcore techniques, try the "Italian job". It will help you clean your carb at no cost.

Rev the crap outta your bike, that's what Italian tune-job means. Just ride hard for like 5 kilometers.

That's how the term was coined,
The origin of the Italian tuneup comes from Ferrari. Owners would drive their cars infrequently and never run them hard, which causes the engine to build up enough carbon inside to affect performance. Mechanics would perform a "tuneup" by driving several laps around a race track to get the engine hot enough to burn out the built up carbon. Cars before the advent of modern engine lubricants and fuels, often had a 'de-coke' by hand, after removing the cylinder head, as a scheduled service operation.

                            I am back!

Lil bit off topic - I recently noticed whenever I purchase petrol from Shell petrol pump using my Citibank credit card, I get charged extra. Has anyone noticed this? Does this happen to other credit card users or at any other petrol pumps?
Any inputs regarding this is appreciated. Thanks in advance..
