    You talking about the first version of Neo (v1.0)who used to stop traffic with their palm when they were young but now too old to do it?

        I usually try to maintain my speeds between 80-100kmph... but don't know why sometimes (read at night) get carried away and cruise at 110+kmph. Its always safe to cruise between 80-90kmph on Indian roads (be it a 150cc bike or 250cc bike, on super highways or freeways ).

          I do a constant speedo indicated 90 on my LB500. This may translate to a true 82-83. This speed has more to do with how my ride feels at that rpm than anything else. 90 is the sweet spot right now. If I had a faster motorcycle, maybe i'd be doing higher speeds.

            What is a good crusing speed on P200 which shud cover 500odd kms in a single day and remaining little fuel efficient ?

                  What next ??

                  After my ride..

                  I am facing the following problems

                  1. Engine gets heated up pretty fast. And it also smells funny.. like something is burning.. don't know what..

                  2. Clutch movement is no longer smooth

                  3. The noise is more deeper and harsh.. I don't like it one bit..

                  any suggestions?? Is it because I need to change the Engine Oil?? Its been some 900 KMs from the last time I did the engine oil change (that was in my third service).

                    Okay... Pretty stupid question i think but anyways just putting it forward...

                    I'm a tourer at heart... But because of budget problems i had to buy a Gladiator SS... Although the bike is very good in the city and i have hit good speeds on it( keeping in mind that its a 125cc bike).. I just want to know if i'll be able to take it out for a long run... What would be a good speed for a gladi to cruise on? I have heard of a lot of guys taking gladis 'touring' so jus wanna ask u guys...

                      Prashanth,

                      The Gladiator can do an unstressed 70-75 all day(again depends on your weight-I'm keeping in mind a 70-75 kilo rider). This speed will keep you awake and alert and also keep away the buzziness that sets in at 80Ks or so. IMHO, frequent butt breaks every 50-60 Kms or so will be ideal on smaller capacity bikes.

                          I have always felt the best speed to tour on indian roads is between 80-95 .This would require minimum hard braking ,max control and shorter stopping distance , good pick up response for overtakes , best mileage possible,minimum vibes.

                          A couple of things I would advise for touring are -

                          1.Ride near the rpm (a little lower) where you get peak torque , this helps in easy overtaking and helps you in tight situations.

                          2.If you ride at peak torque rpm , you will get max mileage for highest speed.If you increase speed any further the mileage will drop down.
                          Is it so? My GS150R produces it's peak torque of 13.4 Nm @ 6000 rpm. In sixth gear it translates to just 80 kmph. Will other bikes like P150, Hunk, XTreme, etc., (which produces max torque @ 7000 rpm) more fuel efficient (max mileage for highest speed)??
                          Have you read about it anywhere? If so, please send me those links. I was searching for this "highest speed max mileage" thingy since many days and happened to stumble upon this thread.

                          Thanks,

                            I have P150 UG2.. Tried constant crusing at different RPM and Speeds. this is wat i got. These RPM and Speeds are constant throught out 150km without a single break.

                            RPM= 5.5k to 6k --Speed= 65 - 70 kmph --> Mileage=60-65
                            RPM= >6k to 8k --Speed= >70 - 90 kmph --> Mileage=50-55
                            RPM= >8k to 10k --Speed= >90 - 110 kmph --> Mileage=44-48

                            Never tried less than 5k RPM (Feels sleepy )

                              in a 950KMS tour with a 6K old hunk i found 80~85KMPH does greater milage, less fatigue, unstressed engine and better control.
                              havent noticed the comfort zone RPM where the bike produces its peak power.(any1 knows it?)
                              however summer weather ofcourse has some effect on engine performance

                                I read this long back(more than 10 yrs) in some magz.Google 'mileage at peak torque rpm' and you can find similar stuff on other forums.
