    I feel cc can be substituted with technology.
    actually i disagree .. what ur seeing is underspec engine [zma] against a nearly full spec engine [R15] .. give the 223cc a full spec and see...

    for me there is no substitute for displacement.

          zma engined is a detuned version of crf230 ...so u can compare that with an R15 engine ...where both are in full spec..

            Thats what Pavan said. Substitute cc with tech!

            But one thing, these techs applied to a higher cc engine will show more benifits then applied to a lower cc engine! That is why I said, tech can compensate for displacement only to a certain extent.

              yas ! right ! hence comparison is invalid ! that was my point.

              but if i m given a 300 cc [hint] or some thing , which is even underspec , can be priced around same as of full spec bike , i'll buy one with more cc , ...

                Yeah, me too.. Increasing the cc is the cheaper way out to produce a powerful engine.

                  overboaring a stock motor may not always give you more power..you may get a bump in torque but you cant expect much change in the power till the head is worked on to an extent that the engine breathes freely at high revs..

                    @viv and abhijeet
                    All that tec put on a 225cc bike will perform better obviously. My point is a bike low on cc but high on technology(Eg:R15) can beat[or compete] a bike low on technology and high on cc(Eg:karizma). So this contrary to the point "there is no substitute for cc".

                      okay i m wrong ur right.

                      but i m afraid , cc in ur dictionary maxes out at 223 cc.

                        no no dude, but when comparing 2 bikes it must not have a very huge difference in cc. I considered R15 on one side so Zma was apt on the other side.
                        and maxing out at 223cc????????? I have plans of buying a gixer1000 in future..

                          So I gather that you'd choose an Enfield?

                              but ur gixxr wont be as fuel efficient as a r15 .. in that case that would a waste ... sure it is powerful ... lesser the cc better the millage .. right . dont go for gxxr. it's a less FE engine .. it suckss
