You Bangalore guys take back the two interceptors you sent to Tumkur now O_O !!!!
I saw people getting royally screwed by the interceptor(s) which made a flash appearance here. I didn't even know Tumkur was that important to get an interceptor oh wellz.

The patrolling on the NH4 (Nelmangala->Tumkur toll region) has increased a lot these days. Saw a patrolling car almost everyday on the highway at fixed times. These weren't interceptors but they aren't a good sign either. I got flagged down for using my rather bright HID at night while going to a dhaba. Thankfully had to pay nothing, but the doofus of the cop argued long enough to make my lose my apetite.

I was enjoying the total freedom one gets in Tumkur T_T no fair !

Never let constables check your documents, they can't read.Once a constable pulled me to the side and asked for the documents,he looked at my insurance and told me its expired(my bike was just a few months old),took me 2-3 minutes to explain to him that i have insurance for another 8-9 months.(Nub cop...)

One thing i have noticed is that their hateful behavior is like a plague that keeps spreading.I see new recruits(pretty easy to identify) don't irritate people and ask for money and stuff, the maximum they do is note down numbers which is okay if you have broken a rule. They probably have some kind of initiation for the new recruits too to make them corrupt.

The higher ups have already stated that the police are not allowed to pull motorists if they are not at fault and harass them, think its high time to start a public campaign to let people know about this...at least then, the cops too will know that we know and they'll stop harassing people.

    My questions:
    1. Why are bikers always targeted by cops? Is it simply because stopping 2-wheels is easier than stopping 4? Or is it because we appear wealthier, having saved on those extra 2-wheels? Or some other reason?
    [/QUOTE]
a same insident happened with me a few says ago. i was returning back home from railway station. i was riding on NH71B that connects Bawal(Rewari) industrial area with Rohtak. It was around 7:30pm i was riding slow because of the High Beam incoming four wheelers (who the hell provide then DL when they dont know how to drive on single roads, even bike commutes use to move in high beam even if they see some one coming from opposite side). i was riding at a speed of around 35 kmph and low beam head lights. as i have to turn left for byepass road i turned on my indicator a 100m away from the turn, when i was around 25-30 m away from the turn a saw a cop on left side and a PCR on the right side of the highway. the cop on the left side was already arguing with a scooterist with no helmet. when i came a little close to the turn he left the scooterist and stopped me. he took a look at my bike from all around, care fully looked at the number plates, then i asked him wat happened, he in a hard tone asked me to show the papers. i pulled out my papers from the purse and handed over to him in the mean while i saw a three wheeler full of pessengers till the roof top went passed me but the cop doesent stopped him, a swift at around 60 moved by me along with those truck were heavily moving on the road. in such heavy traffic condition why did he choosed me to show my papers??? but i controled my self a was watching that foolish cops looking at my papers. then he said " mein bade sahaab ko dikha ke aata hun" (im going to show your papers to my senior)and he started to cross the road i was staiding with my bike with my helmet still on. after 20 minutes of wait i went to him and said "uncle meri bike ke papers kahaan hai"( where r my documents), he said kon se papers(what paper?) i was stunned i said i just given you on that side of road he looked at my bike and said my senior is checking them. i asked him wat is taking him so long to check a few papers. he said jyada jaldi hai then go without your bike, i said why i should go with out my bike. As i was arguing with him his senior arrived and said wats the matter i told him about the papers, they said your documents are not complete you have to pay 200 as fine (as in rewari they dont give you the chalan slips). i was show me what im lacking they said you dont have pollution, i said i had it with my papers with the expiry date of 13 august 09. he started arguing with me, getting frustrated to all there acts i called my uncle (he is also cop). after talking to my uncle they handed over my documents to me, i showed him the pollution and moved towards my bike.
my point why only bikers are considered to be the best meat to eat? they wasted my half an hour, what if i don't have a refrence of senior police officer? in such a case i would have to pay them just for nothing?

Hehe.. Actually some of us can surely consider taking up the profession.. & in B'lore , its pretty rewarding too.. Considering the number of us who still committ these traffic offences, & end up paying bribes..

    Back to the topic:
I have spotted interceptors regulary at:
    1. NH7- Between Yelahanka signal & the Airport (1 interceptor on each side of thle 3+3 lane road). I know its a really long stretch, but I guess these losers can be expected to be found anywhere on this stretch.
    2. Old Airpot Road- Between Command Hospital (coming from Trinity Circle) & the next junction (Haiku Honda/Sony World). The interceptor usually comes in only post noon, ready to nab speeding vehicles till dusk.

Also, as much as I have noticed, the interceptors are located on long straights only. So pls be careful when entering long-straights on empty & wide roads..
well you also get them at even on cloged roads like opp HAL Corporate Officer, approaching Minsk Square

@All: Its great that we are all sharing our not so good experiences with cops & interceptors here..
However, I think we can put this thread to better use by updating the locations where we spot interceptors, so that we can all be mindful of our speeds (rather than end up getting challaned or bribe the cops) atleast whenever riding on those stretches..

Me spotted one interceptor (Chevy Tavera) on the sarjapur signal(Bellandur) Marthalli road last week. But it was neatly parked and locked. I could see their equipment through the rear windscreen.

Don't be dude. It's the usual thing by the cops...they say the same thing to everyone...

EDIT: Everyone who looks from 'North'.
usually i dont get stopped because of my "doctor" sticker on my bike. If i ever do get stopped i just say im going to the hospital to see a case or something, then they'll let me go. Ive never gotten stopped for a document check or anything, just a drunk driving check.

I went to buy a book and while crossing
    sevoke more
a police came from no where
in fron to my bike and
    signalled me to stopped
initially i was going to stop
then readily calculated how much i would have to pay him as bribe
    then
when i was 2 mtr away from him then
    i opened the throttle
and after watching that I opened the throttle
he understood that I am maniac'
I was willingly going towards him
he jumped backwards i think 2 mtr behind and
    another police man
    Only showed me his hand
he didnt dared to come in frotnt of me
man o man i was so scared
    ran away from there
and went to sir tuition directly
and i was sweating like hell
sir said that dont take tension nothing will happen!

Got caught first time in Blore on Sarjahpura road.. from Marthahalli...on 9th...I was with a pillion and was doing around 90+ but slowed down from about 500 metres back when i saw them but one police came walking in the middle lane to stop the bike, had no change other than 100/-, thats what i gave and moved. This issue seems a big one, how can one stay at 60 in empty roads? The thought of having the machine and not being able to push is bewildering!

i was a victim of interceptor on orr on 8th...i was happily doing 100kph which is above the speed limit defly but was going to my last exam and was late too...
usually interceptors stand in a differnt location as soon as i crossed that place i was on full throttle but these guys shifted there location in front and me even after hard braking didnt help..they stopped me and i was like very angry and started shouting that i am going to exam one cop tried to take my key for which i shouted at him and i took my bikes key...

he asked me to show my dl and hall ticket which i showed and in the meanwhile i found that he was speaking in telugu..immediately i started speaking in telugu, then he was speaking politely and asking abt few personal things...then he asked me to pay watever i have, then i gave him 60/- to to make him believe this is wat i have..he returned back 10rs and told best of luck...

i was always waiting to be caught by interceptors because there is no speed limit board and wanted to make it a issue and i know how to getaway without paying fine..but was in a hurry to exams so couldnt do anything but had to pay 50/-..
