^I dont wanna compare anything here. Please start a new thread about comparisions. All that i can say is that my R15 is currently over 3 secs faster than the new P220 Dtsi to 100kph.

As long as u do not alter the final gearing (i.e) sprockets, u cannot alter the top speed. In the case of the R15, the top speed is restricted by the gearing(14/42) to 150kmph.

The gearing and ECU on my bike is still stock. I'm running on sprokets and chain which has clocked 17000kms and with some rigorous track abuse.
Its been over 5000kms since I did my works and hence on saturday I decided to strip down the engine and inspect the internals. To see how well they have taken the abuse. I must say I'm impressed and suprised that except for a little dark brown carbon deposit on the piston (due to normal combustion), there is not a sign of anything. Right from the cam to the valve springs heights to the cylinder, piston rings, piston, crankshaft and everything else. Its all as good was what it was at 11500kms when I did the mods. In the last 3 months I have done one trackday, long rides, everyday commute to office and run-abouts and in all cases the rpms were never below 5000rpm. One oil change 2000kms ago and oil filter change and air filter change was all that was done. I'm using the Agip, FUlly synthetic Racing oil which still looked fresh. Measured the oil quantity after draining from the engine and it was at a surprising 920ml for the amount of works that I have done. Which means there is no oil consumption and leak anywhere. I have noticed a drop of 10% oil normally on healthy 4-stroke engines and stock R15's are around 15%. This was less than 10%. Again, consider that there is some oil still left in the crankcases, gearbox, clutch, cylinder head and other spots. Overall, the results are very encouraging and proves that an engine with so much power can still be built reliable.

Joel's R15 is a Master Piece. I rode it for about 20 mtrs, went only upto 3 gear and returned. But this short a ride, told the entire tale of what the machine is capable of. Me being more of a tourer, would have loved to ride it on the Highway. Any ways, the First thing that you notice very very clearly when you start her up is the exhaust note. Its perfect, simply awesome. The second is the Suspension, very well setup.

Hi joel, great going there. There are a lot of performance parts for the R15 available outside the ones sold by Yamaha. Check out this page that i posted on another forum. This stuff is available from malaysia and indonesia. If it will help increase power. Whats your take on it??

I have only used the free flow filter ( oil soaked like K&N ) , and the bottom end did improve, but the top was not as it was before.

Also some pics of the filter and a LED tailight that i am in the process of customizing

I need your help on tuning the bike. I have the FID, but how do i know whats the ideal value to set the C0 at?? right now i kept the throttle at 6000 rpm +- 50 or so constant, and then increase the C0 for highest rpm, around 6200 or so at +4 setting. Is it right?? the bike's mileage did drop from 35-36 to 31-32, but she goes more readily to 130 + than before, maybe because the engine is not getting starved in the higher rpm.

                              Please advise.

My Engine runs a higher state of tune thats what you get with those kits.
About the CO setting, well thats not how u do it. You need a dyno to set it right!
