very sad friend, it really breaks the heart. Did cops were able to get any words from the man who works on stolen bike?

And is there any additional lock we have for FZ-16 apart from the one which gets fit on the shocker. If not then do the shocker lock works on fz16?

I share the same story. My silver p150 (only 7 months old) was stolen in front of my house at approx 4 AM on January 4, 2009. More of the worse, I have still not received a single penny from the insurance company (Oriental Insurance) despite of giving the following docs :

Step 1 : Claim Form Submission with necessary docs :

                    1. F.I.R in original.
                    2. Original RC
                    3. Original Insurance Copy
                    4. Original Pollution Certificate
                    5. Financier N.O.C (if financed)
                    6. Both Bike's Keys (Original)
                    7. My Statements
                    8. My neighbour Statements
                    9. Certificate from National Crime Bureau Authority
                    10. Vehicle Non-Traceable report from Police Station
                    11. Original Purchase Bill with receipt
                    12. Police informed report (100 number receipt or statement of respected police officer who is inspecting your case)

When these documents are submitted along with the claim form, they'll ask for :

                    Step # 2 : Approval

                    1. Transfer of Bike RC to Insurance Company
                    2. Signed receiving copy in advance (that you have received your claim etc)
                    3. Respective Police Station's S.H.O's approval; (that if bike is found later on, it will be given to insurance company not to you).

And this process usually takes 5-6 months but in my case it is already 9 months and still I have not received full docs. You'll have to bribe cops to act faster (if you are in Delhi).

Guys, dont get dependent on insurance company, they are really worse. Just take care of your vehicle very properly and you are own responsible for the theft, no one will come to rescue.

                    Good Luck diffuser.

After reading this post. I just went down to double check my bike is locked in the office parking lot. Scary stuff. Hope you get your bike back.

I know there is no 100% proof. But what would be considered a reasonable and effective security measure, as in locks or electronic devices? i.e. apart from handle lock.

                          Small update

Thanks for all the concern friends. Really appreciate the xBhp brotherhood being by my side.

There is a small update on the police workings till now. My friend told me that cops had picked up a mechanic from a nearby locality, found servicing a stolen Suzuki bike. Now, the guy had said that the bike was brought to him by a college student and the police capture that guy in the evening. From what the mechanic told my friend, it has opened up to a small racket, with 6-8 guys getting arrested and around 36 bikes being recovered. Now when I get to the police station and ask about the same today morning, they said that all the bikes were collected by the owners by showing the registration papers.

Now, how the hell is that possible that the bust was carried out last evening and the vehicles have been collected even before the IAC of the police station arrives? I am starting to have doubts on the intentions of the police as they are not telling anything, but all I hope for is my bike be among those bikes recovered. As many people have argued, it's immoral to pay bribes. I agree, but at the same time, I am ready to cough up a few K's just to avoid the delay (which I'm sure is being added to suck in more money). And I've made my point clear as well to some the the people inside the station.

Let's hope for the best now.

Either way you'll do good thing, but I personally want you to get back the bike by paying some 'reward' if necessary and get back those smiles on your face, b'cos I know you love your CBZ a lot ??!!!

Padlock on CD-Dawn, if padlock is 'godrej' only way to rob the bike is to lift it into a truck......the flexible wire lock can secure helmet and any one of the wheel.

It would be good if ARAI makes compulsory 'optional' locking system other than std, handle lock. Two is always better than one !!
