Ohh thats indeed sad, better to ask your dealer in this case. Ask him if he can get you a duplicate RC, Bill. Did you also lose your insurance and pollution, if yes then sadly the case is unapprovable. Visit your insurance company and ask them if anything can be done. Who were your insurers by the way ?

I hope i will never use your steps but thanks for the info. I have some questions......
I submitted my bike's original bill while registering it so what can i do in this regard ? Is it sufficient to take attested copies of RC and insurance with my bike ?

            I hope that same...!!

Though the rules say we must keep all docs in original but you can play some smart tricks like colour copying insurance and then leminating that copy which'll make it look almost original. Second, RC now comes with credit card shaped smart cards which can easily fix in the male's wallet. Third, better to keep licence in original. If you are caught with a duplicate one, 60% chances are that you'll be challaned !

Allright people, finally after a long long wait I have received my claim. It took 1 year, 2 months and 28 days. The cheque is of Rs 54,176 Rs. My bike was stolen on January 3, 2009 (I brought it on April 24, 2008) and I received the cheque on March 31, 2010. I visited Oriental's office atleast 2 dozens times, police station for FIR and Non-Tracable report for more than a dozen time, met inurance insepctor atleast 8 to 9 times. Met my financer 3 ti 4 times. But i feel this time is worth in our system if we do not bribe anyone (though this is a foolish thing, had the bribe been given the cheque would have brought a new bike by now) except Rs 300 i gave to a constable for the non-tracable report.

Moral of the story people :

              1. Keep a good care of your machine.
              2. Dont be lazy when it comes to security.
              3. Always keep insurance papers, Pollution Cetrificate, Insurance upto date.
              4. RC, Licence etc are very crucial and should be well kept.

Do ping me if there is anthing i can be helpful of.

Bike Stolen - Can i get road tax refund?

                  Hey guys,

Last night my 2011 Pulsar 220 was stolen at night from opposite my house. I would like to know if i am entitled to any kind of refund, except for claiming insurance. If i correctly remember at the time of purchase we pay road tax for 20 years. Since my bike has been stolen, and ive only used it for a year and one month, can i claim the road tax for the remaining 18/19 years.

Also since my bike completed a year and 1 month. While claiming insurance should i get the IDV insured of the bike, or are they entitled to depreciate the IDV for the one month.

                  Thanks in advance

My Bike Got Stolen Confused What To Do Next !! :/

First of all This is my first post on Xbhp . Even thought i been on forums a lot as a guest before i decided to buy my bike but i never got to register either i was too lazy or busy with my collage and I'm being honest . So after reading a lot here i decided to go for r15 v2 even though i shortlisted R15 , Duke 200 and CBR150 they all fall in my budget . As on 20th Jan i Bought the Bike and Since then I haven't regret my decision . But sadly on 12th june 2014 somone stole my beloved Bike When i woke up i coudnt bealive for a while but after a while the reality was quite clear i did file a F.I.R and informed Insurance company as it was just 4 months and few days old . As we all know here how long it takes for insurance and police report to come and all the other formalities . It did suck for a while knowing my babe is gone and i will never see it again ever but life moves on as i had my my girl there with me to overcome anything but thats not the point here . I did all the formalities to be done for insurance company and now just waiting for final report and non-traceable certificate . i did pay some ( chai pani ) to investigation officer of my police station never the less its been hard days as i use to go everywhere with it including my collage and other normal stuff and it sucker asking my friends for their ride i needed my own bike soon . so i started looking online for used r15 which are hardly used and i found one same as mine ( same color and stuff ) i went to his place which was around 40 kms away just to check if it isn't mine :P but it wasn't bike was in showroom condition same as mine just had few key scratches on the tank but that's not a problem as i can easily replace the whole tank . The price was quoted 95k for a bike which was few days younger than mine and have less Kms than mine almost 1000 less so i talked to my dad about it at first he agreed but then he said you know Beta i know how you feel but people will say stuffs behind our back that his bike has just been stolen and he took another one and you will be a bigger target ( trust me my bike was a target for a long time ) how you ask ? i live in an apartment which has gated garage for everyone there are atleast 15 bikes and almost 6-7 cars parked everyday . Mine had a remote lock on it but it stops working many times while riding in high speed and jerks i have fixed it few times but this time i got kinda lazy i guess :/ and i havent had any petrol left in my bike the maximum i could go was nearest petrol pump and i was ready to go to petrol pump in the morning when i found out its not there and the best part is the bikes next to me had his whole fuel stolen the same night ( passion plus ) and none of the gates lock has been broken either so its sure it was an inside job -_- Its been More than a month my bike is gone and now i know i have no hope its proabably been through the border and went to bangladesh . so the guy who was suppose to sell me his R15 didnt even have RC yet and asked me to wait and i coudnt so i bought used FZ-S and started using it . Now i the help i need is

                      - The Bike is bought on Feb 8 and has clocked around 2200 Km on it and no scratches other than i mentioned .
                      - The guy need money for his Collageee fees hence selling his bike ( I do kinda feel bad for taking his though
                      - My friends said No and asked me to go for new bike as its used
                      - The only reason i dont wanna buy a new bike is they dont have the same colour i had ( Black sliver ) black gold and the new sliver sucks :/
                      - My friends Suggesting me to go for something else like CBR , Duke or wait for SS200 But my Heart is all for the one i lost i just wanna replace it !

So The Guy Called Me again today and Told Me that i Got The RC and it would be nice if we Get done with our Deal . But My dad told me to wait till august and let insurance Get clear .It sounds like a great deal and i wont miss anything i really wanna go for it . I did ask that guy to wait till august 20th as chances are I will get Final report soon and insurance thingy done . So my question is My post is Huge and i Don't know what to do :/ As you all the expert here Kindly help me getting through this

P.S - How long does it take for insurance company to approve your claim after they get Final Report ? Mine is Iffco Tokio ( as investigator said i don't have worry i have everything they needed )

Thank you for Reading this I hope i get some answers

I am sorry about your loss but I would agree with your dad. Don't be hasty and wait for a couple of months, who knows you might get your beloved bike back. Temporarily you can ask a friend or relative to lend a bike or rent out one from garage just as a means of transportation.

                            Insurance related info needed

                            Hello all!!

I need few info and help regarding a matter.
                            Firstly a heads up-

Recently my motorcycle got stolen and I lodged a FIR with the local police station. Although I now feel that I don't have any chance of getting my beloved motor cycle back and in very much grief because of that. Now my only aim is getting the insurance amount as fast as I can and hassle free. I have insured my motorcycle with Bajaj Allianz & I have few questions regarding that.
                            1. Upon enquiring & hearing from many sources I have gathered that Bajaj is not a good company in case of claim settlement. How true is that?(Although I pray that none of you go through the pain I have/am suffered/suffering now but XBHP is large platform and our country is full of thieves so if anyone of you had gone through this same painfull ordeal then please guide)
                            2. What is the total time taken for claim settlement?
                            3. Surveyor is telling me to get the final report from Police where Police will write that motorcycle is still mising or something like that. Now I have a serious doubt whether police will write that or not. What is the ordeal?

Since I am currently working out of home turf so I don't know many people here in Guwahati so if you guys(from Guwahati) can help me regarding insurance/police then I would be really really grateful.

                            Thanks,

                            Ritabroto
